The base case for the Iran war is that Trump MUST make a deal before mid-terms ➡️to get inflation under control he can't have a forever war under his belt. Gold & silver equities are the value opportunity for that trade. $KGC $CAMB.V $WPG.V $SUM.V $CERT.V $VIPR.V $NCAU.V

THIS is what 🇨🇦 needs. 👇 @StevenBartlett: “Pierre told me that he’s on a mission to make Canada the freest and most affordable place in the world, and he’s not stopping until that happens.” @PierrePoilievre “Scars are the trophies of survival”. 👏 👏 👏
Could this be the next Prime Minister of Canada? Recently, I’ve been finding myself up all night trying to figure out what the hell is going on in the world and if we're on the verge of World War III… So, today I’m sitting down with Pierre Poilievre who is the leader of Canada's Conservative Party and Leader of the Opposition. He became one of the youngest MPs elected to Canadian parliament and has spent 2 decades fighting for working class people and fair opportunities. Pierre told me that he’s on a mission to make Canada the freest and most affordable place in the world, and he’s not stopping until that happens. To give you more context on his background, Pierre was adopted at birth by two school teachers who struggled financially and ended up losing multiple homes which meant that they had to start again from nothing several times throughout his childhood. That experience shaped what he believes about work, money, and fairness. When speaking about his parents, he told me that they taught him that it doesn’t matter where you come from. It matters what you do. That belief is now at the centre of everything he’s trying to change.

Mexico Surpasses Canada As Second Most Successful Country In North America OTTAWA — In a development many Canadians once assumed impossible, Mexico has officially overtaken Canada as the second most economically successful country in North America. Economists noted that while Canada focused heavily on real estate speculation and regulatory expansion, Mexico quietly expanded its manufacturing sector, becoming a global hub for automotive, electronics, and industrial production. Mexico now exports over $500 billion annually in manufactured goods, while Canadian productivity growth has lagged near the bottom of the OECD for years. Meanwhile, the Mexican peso has been one of the strongest-performing currencies in recent years, gaining significantly against the Canadian dollar as investors bet on Mexico’s growing industrial base and nearshoring boom. Experts say the key difference may be surprisingly simple. “In Mexico,” said one analyst, “people still build factories, assemble things, and produce real goods. In Canada, we mostly trade houses with each other and call it GDP.” Canadian officials congratulated Mexico on its achievement and confirmed the country will continue focusing on “more sustainable industries,” such as paperwork, regulation, and bidding up home prices.

They call independence risky while pretending staying in Canada is safe. That is a lie. The real risk is staying tied to a sinking system that is taking Alberta down with it. #AlbertaIndependence

“We’re not saying Canada is out of the G7,” the official said. “But most democracies prefer to include the voters in the democracy part.” WASHINGTON — Officials in the Trump administration say the United States is “closely monitoring developments in Canada” after what they describe as “unusual democratic innovations” taking place north of the border. According to sources familiar with internal discussions, the topic recently surfaced during a review of G7 relations. One senior official reportedly summarized the concern bluntly: “The G7 is supposed to be a club of stable democracies. If that standard changes, the club might have to change too.” The comments come as Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is widely expected to secure a majority government without holding a general election, a development that has reportedly caught the attention of several officials in Washington. “This is fascinating,” one administration aide said. “We’re trying to understand the new Canadian model where you get a full governing mandate without the inconvenience of voters.” Another official added that the U.S. is “carefully studying the situation.” “For decades Canada was considered one of the most stable democracies in the world,” the aide said. “Now we’re seeing some… creative interpretations of how democratic legitimacy works.” While no formal action has been proposed, insiders say the discussion briefly touched on the broader question of whether all current G7 members still meet the political and economic standards the group was originally built around. “The G7 isn’t a historical society,” one official reportedly said. “It’s supposed to represent the world’s leading democracies and economies.” When asked if Canada’s membership could eventually come into question, another source responded cautiously. He paused. “We’re not saying Canada is out of the G7,” the official said. “But most democracies prefer to include the voters in the democracy part.”

It's worth highlighting the serious alpha generated by picking up stocks that passive ETFs remove from their holdings due to rebalancing. The new era $DARP: Active ETFs >> Passive ETFs This was a slam dunk opportunity on the back of the $URNM rebalance, $AEC 100% in just over a month 👇#URANIUM h/t: @DuaneHope5 @capital10x graph: @GodelTerminal
Passive index rebalacings are a big area of alpha for investors - buy what the index is deleting, impressive track record of outperformance historically (research associates). #uranium The $URNM ETF is rebalancing (removing stocks less than $100m mkt cap) - short sellers / mkt makers sell before event (dec 19), creating an opportunity for fundamental investors. $AEC on sale here (among others) because of these passive ETF mechanics

As always, a very thoughtful and well reasoned take. I read till the end. I think the Claude Code team itself might be an indicator of where things are headed. We have directional answers for some (not all) of the prompts: 1. We hire mostly generalists. We have a mix of senior engineers and less senior since not all of the things people learned in the past translate to coding with LLMs. As you said, the model can fill in the details. 10x engineers definitely exist, and they often span across multiple areas — product and design, product and business, product and infra (@jarredsumner is a great example of the latter. Yes, he’s blushing). 2. Pretty much 100% of our code is written by Claude Code Opus 4.5. For me personally it has been 100% for two months now, I don’t even make small edits by hand. I shipped 22 PRs yesterday and 27 the day before, each one 100% written by Claude. Some were written from a CLI, some from the iOS app; others on the team code largely with the Claude Code app Slack or with the Desktop app. I think most of the industry will see similar stats in the coming months — it will take more time for some vs others. We will then start seeing similar stats for non-coding computer work also. 3. The code quality problems you listed are real: the model over-complicates things, it leaves dead code around, it doesn’t like to refactor when it should. These will continue improve as the model improves, and our code quality bar will go up even more as a result. My bet is that there will be no slopcopolypse because the model will become better at writing less sloppy code and at fixing existing code issues; I think 4.5 is already quite good at these and it will continue to get better. In the meantime, what helps is also having the model code review its code using a fresh context window; at Anthropic we use claude -p for this on every PR and it catches and fixes many issues. Overall your ideas very much resonate. Thanks again for sharing. ✌️

During PM Carney's recent visit to China, he announced Canada would drop EV tariffs from 100% to 6.1% on 49,000 Chinese vehicles annually. Beyond economic impact, there are significant security implications without guardrails for dual-use technology. EVs are computers on wheels with GPS, sensors, microphones, and cameras. They map sensitive locations, record conversations, and track movement patterns. Chinese law requires companies to cooperate with state intelligence when requested, creating security vulnerabilities where these EVs operate. Israel has restricted Chinese EVs after intelligence found vehicles transmitting data to Chinese servers without user knowledge. The UK and Poland implemented similar restrictions. The US Commerce Dept finalised rules in 2025 that go further, prohibiting vehicle connectivity system hardware and software from China and Russia entirely. Canada imported Chinese-made EVs before the 2024 100% tariffs but implemented no security guardrails. The new deal revives and expands access with the same absence of safeguards. In its National Cyber Threat Assessment 2025-2026, Canada's Communications Security Establishment stated: "The People's Republic of China's (PRC) expansive and aggressive cyber program presents the most sophisticated and active state cyber threat to Canada today. The PRC conducts cyber operations against Canadian interests to serve high-level political and commercial objectives, including espionage, intellectual property (IP) theft, malign influence, and transnational repression. Among our adversaries, the PRC cyber program's scale, tradecraft, and ambitions in cyberspace are second to none." Canada's deal includes no cybersecurity requirements, no data localisation mandates, no restrictions on gov't or military use, and no connectivity limitations. CSE is doing its job issuing clear threat assessments, but political decision-makers are signing a "strategic partnership" and opening the Canadian market to dual-use technology without recommended guardrails. This disconnect between security assessment and policy implementation represents strategic misalignment. Selective economic engagement with China makes sense when properly safeguarded. This isn't it. #Canada #China #EVSecurity
