Here's to Joyce Keating - an incredible person across all areas! So much love and compassion in her heart, mind, and soul. And she always had a joke and smile up her sleeve! Hope to end up even just a fraction of how happy she was. Much love to you Nana. legacy.com/obituaries/okanag…

Happy Canada Day! Always love to re-watch this: youtube.com/watch?v=lrA4V6YF… #CanadaDay

And there are many important reasons to 3D print your medical data - planning, treatment, research, etc - though another is just for fun! Giving out 3D printed brain tumors as salt shakers, bottle openers, and Christmas tree ornaments gets quite an interesting reaction... :)

Oh, and one more, for folks interested in 3D printing their own medical data, check out the open source and free 3D Slicer (the amazing founder is also a co-author on our paper) and this tutorial: youtube.com/watch?v=MKLWzD0P… … and use @shapeways, @imaterialise, or your own printer.

Our paper on a new 3D printing approach for biomedical data sets with gradient properties (including my brain tumor) was published today! Neat to do a paper with my neurosurgeon and amazing colleagues at @medialab and @wyssinstitute! Full paper here: liebertpub.com/doi/pdf/10.10…

With the #RightToTry Law I signed today, patients with life threatening illnesses will finally have access to experimental treatments that could improve or even cure their conditions. These are experimental treatments and products that have shown great promise...

One of the best predictors of academic success in young children: Curiosity. It's as important as self-control, and especially valuable for lower-income kids. Classrooms should spark curiosity rather than demand compliance. sciencedaily.com/releases/20…
