A bit odd that the World Cup iconic matches section on the @BBCiPlayer doesn’t include Northern Ireland defeating Spain in 1982. Have found room for lesser Wales and Republic of Ireland moments, so not as if it’s qualified teams only.
“The needle returns to the start of the song, and we all sing along like before.” A season that flirted with generational change ends in the usual tedium. Now over to the @ScottishFA and @spfl to address the inadequacies of VAR and tackle fan behaviour. I won’t hold my breath.
The ability of Martin O’Neill to dodge and deflect to avoid biting the ugly hand that feeds was evident to everyone back in 2001, not sure why anyone is expecting the 2026 version to be any different.

Seriously that is never a handball at Fir Park. The boy headed it 20 yards. The ref takes one look after VAR calls him over. Embarrassing for Scottish football.
Bought my latest season ticket - just the 44 years after my first, but the same mix of hope, expectation and trepidation persists. Wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
