twitters algorithm deciding to show me nothing but Zelda and Doctor Who *discourse* rather than like art and fun things might actually be the thing that makes me leave this website
When people criticize AI obviously theyโre talking about plagiaristic LLM and gen AI slop, nobody means they have a problem with technology that could cure fucking cancer or clean the fucking oceans, and you fucking know they donโt ๐
โWi-Fiโ is not an acronym. It doesnโt stand for anything.
Also! Since itโs a trademarked term, it should be written as โWi-Fiโ (not โwifiโ or โWiFiโ).
โbut what about cancer cells and video games?โ yes i meant generative AI and LLMs, not all machine learning, which is what most people are taking about when they say AI
In March 2019, we did a little search of the media archives. Jeremy Corbyn first became an MP in 1983. He stood for the Labour leadership 32 years later, in May 2015. We searched the ProQuest database for UK newspaper articles containing:
โJeremy Corbynโ and โanti-semitismโ before 1 May 2015 = 18 hits
None of the 18 hits accused Corbyn of anti-semitism. For his first 32 years as an MP, it just wasnโt a theme associated with him. Then things changed:
โJeremy Corbynโ and โanti-semitismโ after 1 May 2015 = 11,251 hits
We don't need to do a media search to know that, one year ago, the idea that the Green Party UK had 'an antisemitism problem' would have been deemed completely nonsensical. So, what changed? Zack Polanski started criticising Israel and winning huge support threatening to disrupt the status quo. It's a propaganda backlash, nothing more. @ZackPolanski
Nick Robinson reads out two headlines one after another, antisemitism within Green Party followed by Zack Polanski not being registered as a hypnotist, the day before an election. No mention of Farages ยฃ5m donation. ๐ค @BBCNews
Scrubs (2026) is good but i firmly believe that 1) Brett Goldstein should be on the writing staff and 2) they should be allowed one โfuckโ per episode
