Now in its 15th year, the MPG Awards will take place on the 27th April. They have revealed their shortlist for the 2023 awards, and Hipgnosis are a proud sponsor of the Writer Producer of the Year Award.

I've called for a debate on the importance of recording studios to our creative industries. The BBC is selling off @MaidaValeMuso - which ought to be kept as part of our musical heritage. Plus many studios are struggling - so why aren't they eligible for the energy bills scheme?

Can you imagine the uproar if the chancellor said that fishermen had to retrain? Yet music alone (never mind the rest of arts) brings in far far more money to the uk economy than fishing does, but heās happy to throw our entire industry under a bus.

Today Iām in Berlin, working with musicians who get regular covid tests, & those who cannot yet return to work have a flexible furlough scheme in place till 2022.
In the UK key workers in hotspots canāt even get a test, & income support for most musicians stopped last month.
