I think @ZohranKMamdani needs to understand things from your perspective. You can't go from $10.65/$16.50 per hour to $30. Labor makes up the biggest part of the cost. A lot of small businesses will be forced to close. Others will close either out of spite, or because there's better opportunities elsewhere. Inflation will skyrocket. Going to $15/$20 tipped/untipped would be a reasonable compromise. Even that seems a little high. If Zohran wants to save face and not go back on promises he can aim for $25/$30 by 2030.
