Come read the story stored in ʻoʻopu nākea's otoliths🐟: Native waterfall-climbing fish threatened by climate change, human activity hawaii.edu/news/2023/10/27/n… Our late ʻoʻopu mentor Dr. Bob Kinzie III once said🧐, ‘Otoliths don’t lie, we just need to listen carefully!’

Shameless plug... I'm thrilled about my first single-author publication.💖 For a long time, I thought of writing up some good #calibration #practices after calibrating models for 20 years. Here are 10 strategies🧵 Many thx to the #WomenInHydrology SI! bit.ly/3JW4DIw

Interesting coverage by @BBC_Future on water-related conflicts. About 1/4 of the world's population now faces severe water scarcity at least one month out of the year: bbc.com/future/article/20210…

The hurricane/typhoon category is defined by the wind speed, so it only indicates the potential damage from winds and excludes rainfall-driven damages, such as flooding. Hurricane categories don’t tell the whole story: nationalgeographic.com/envir… 來自 @NatGeo

Check this paper out! "In Hawaiʻi, the maximum streamflow in a year was not always the result of the maximum rainfall, based on analyses from 1975 to 2005. The timing of both maximum events has shifted from early Jan to late Dec, likely due to the changes in ENSO." @HIHydroYuFen
Yeah! My manuscript got published: Shifting magnitude and timing of streamflow extremes and the relations... sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
