Noah Hawley says his โ€˜FAR CRYโ€™ series wonโ€™t be adapting any of the games as he thinks audiences skip the story cutscenes in those games. โ€œWhen you play a video game, you only really move forward through the gameplay section, and then you have these cut scenes that you can skip, so when you go to adapt those games you have to be aware that makes the human drama kind of irrelevant to the storyline.โ€ (Source: Deadline)

Why would you want to create a "unique" Far Cry story to feed to modern audiences? How is Far Cry different enough from any other action show or video game in order to tell your own original story? Why even call it "Far Cry" ?
