After years of struggle to prove a computer-inspired crazy insight - the idea that missense mutations and deletions could be, actually, equivalent - and involving up to 13 people from three continents, here it is: medicalxpress.com/news/2019-…

The book that got me totally hooked on science. I bought it with my savings when I was 11 to learn about the space. As an unexpected bonus, it also ignited my interest in molecular biology. Carl Sagan had greatest impact on me than my troubled family. Legendary.
Have you read this book? ✍️

👀 Sneak a peek at the deepest & sharpest infrared image of the early universe ever taken — all in a day’s work for the Webb telescope. (Literally, capturing it took less than a day!) This is Webb’s first image released as we begin to #UnfoldTheUniverse: nasa.gov/webbfirstimages/

Our project on #BrainCancer mutations in #EGFR and novel house-keeping targets received funding from @Cancerfonden. Incredibly grateful to #cancerfonden donors, even more as this year I was also honored to receive CF Junior Investigator Award. Thank you! #tillsammansmotcancer
Rekordstor utdelning! Cancerfonden delar i år ut 850 miljoner till svensk cancerforskning. 230 viktiga forskningsprojekt blir nu möjliga tack vare gåvor från svenska folket. cancerfonden.se/nyhet/otroli…

Wow -- faculty are 25 times more likely to have a parent with a PhD. Almost 50 times more likely in "prestigious universities"

Still cannot believe I have obtained the Cancerfonden Junior Investigator Award! Immensely grateful to @Cancerfonden for believing in an ambitious project trying to connect the apparently distant worlds of biomolecular simulations and cancer research. cancerfonden.se/nyhet/vi-fin…

Thanks also to OnkPat and @LarsMHolmgren for their support!
Really gratifying when simulations rationalize biochemistry! A trimeric enzyme where only one of the three binding sites is active at a time, thanks to a complex unfolding mechanism revealed by MD. Proud to be part of this collaborative work with the Haeggström´s Lab. & Madhu!
KI researchers have mapped the structure and mechanism of MGST2, a membrane enzyme that plays a part in chronic #inflammation and #cancer. The study is published in @NatureComms and can make a significant contribution to the development of future drugs. bit.ly/2QmAGbq

We often define our time as the era of information technology. But the amazing #Antikythera mechanism shows the evolution of computing is much older, as suggested by Price in 1951. A new study offers a 3-D reconstruction of the astronomical calculator: nature.com/articles/s41598-0…

Are cells like small liquid "brains"? Cells are capable of gathering and processing complex sets of signals and respond in adaptive ways. How close are they to standar neural networks? Here's the seminal 1995 paper by Dennis Bray on cells as computers nature.com/articles/376307a0…
