My paper with @AlexaTompary, @AnnaSchapiro, and Sharon @stslab is now out in eLife! elifesciences.org/articles/6… We found that gist memory initially extracted from individual items biased memory for those items by one month. An “outlier” item changed this relationship. Thread:

I had fun presenting ongoing work with @stslab at #cogsci this week! We’re looking at how abstract structure in multidimensional space may impact credit assignment in reinforcement learning. If you have any questions or comments about the poster, please let me know!

Excited to share a new preprint w/ @AlexaTompary, @AnnaSchapiro, & @stslab where we track the co-evolution of item and gist memory over time. We found that after one month, gist memory was better preserved and biased individual item memories. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

Preprint alert: Extremely excited to share one of my major postdoc projects at the @stslab, where we investigated theories on the dynamic nature of semantic memory using semantic network analysis: psyarxiv.com/crp47
