Well what a Guided Birdwatching cruise season we've had this winter.. Weather was atrocious heavy rain, gales, which didn't dampen the spirits of our guests who were Amazing. Our overwintering birds as always didn't disappoint. The Lesser Crested Tern stole the show on 3rd Dec..

A private Guided Birdwatching charter by the @metoffice proved to be one of the driest days of the winter.... How did they know?!! 😆 lots of birds were on show with a nice flyby from Turnstones & DB Brent Geese Cattle Egret and Avocets were also seen in numbers. A great cruise.

It's alway nice to see the Avocet flock at RSPB Bowling Green Marsh over high tide. A real winter spectacle and brightens up a gloomy day @RSPBExeEstuary @DevonBirds @GWLT2015 @stuartlineexm @VisitDevon

I find Avocets so exotic that I’m resisting the idea they actually exist. Just look at how beautiful they are. They're the subject of my wildlife adventure on today's post - taken from a @stuartlineexm cruise on the River Exe. Which wildlife encounters give you the same feeling?

Lesser Crested Tern viewed this morning from the Dawlish Warren Hide flying over a distantly moored @stuartlineexm boat. If only someone was on it ... would have had much better views than we did! Lifer no. 367 @BirdGuides @RareBirdAlertUK @DevonBirds @RSPBExeEstuary

Always something going on around Duckpond and Mudbanks at Exmouth. Apart from 5000 Wildfowl feeding on the Eel Grass there's other gems to discover like this Grey Plover catching shore crabs and the Kingfisher checking the little creeks for the odd fish or crustacean to catch.
