Unless you have sat in a room with a father in tears begging his child to attempt the work "because you don't want to end up like me" I am uninterested in your abstract theories about market forces, or your undermining of the approaches that are most likely to work for most kids.

If you had 10 minutes in a room with senior executives in your Education Department, what Inclusive Ed reform would you pitch to them? (I'm stuck on "opening up system data to researchers" but that's a long term tool not something that will see outcomes in the next 3 years.)

Australia - one of most socially segregated school systems in the world. We are second worst in the OECD for the increasing concentration of disadvantaged students in disadvantaged schools. Our system uses public money to turbocharge inequalities." thesaturdaypaper.com.au/comm…

Probably should suspend any funding to Israel until the full investigation has been conducted ... you know, given the precedent for doing do has been set.
The deaths of Zomi Frankcom and her colleagues are outrageous and unacceptable. They only make more urgent our call for the Netanyahu Government to comply with the demands of the international community.

SA was the first state to introduce container deposits back in 1977, under Don Dunstan. It took other states decades to catch up. Now we're trailling QLD... #saparli #Adelaide
You can now get 10c back on wine and spirit bottles. It just makes cents.

Constructivism is a theory of learning and NOT of teaching. So let's teach the learners first before we ask them to construct meaning. And to be able to do that, they need background knowledge EXPLICITLY taught to them. #howlearninghappens

An excellent thread of resources for building more inclusive schools.
1. #InclusiveEducation is about 💥every 💥student, no exceptions, including kids who have complex support requirements. Here are some of my favourite resources to help you understand how this can be achieved

Great questions for people writing policies across the board, not just those involving reading instruction.

The RBA has done it again, hiking interest rates to an 11 year high. Business groups will be keen to blame wages, but remember, excess profits are the main culprit driving this inflation. @GrogsGamut explains. #auspol

I’m getting rather frustrated with people who refuse to listen to trans people or learn anything about how sports ensure fairness before deciding to tell trans kids they aren’t real or valid and deserve to be “other.” It’s ignorant bigotry, and a false moral panic. Please stop.
