A Common Lisp programmer has no problem with this.

Just saying that no website being served by a lisp machine got hacked in the last 5 years. Security record speaks for itself.

I never learn my lesson about skipping leg day then pushing my squat PB when I decide to follow through. 1 day after: feel great, little sore. 3 days after: I am temporarily disabled.

someone sent me a DM showing me they Lean-formalized my recent blog post on an application of Khovanskii's topological Galois theory @_@

A discussion of Common Lisp style on Reddit. I answer w/some rules I have on my teams, including "no nonstandard iteration, binding, or conditionals", and a little about why I don't permit these kinds of language customizations in one of the world's most customizable languages.

Someone wrote a patch to add GADTs to Coalton. Should it be merged?

Are there any courses in mathematical writing? I think some mathematicians have a gift for communicating just the right amount of information, whilst being neither too terse nor being too distracted by long mechanical calculation/explanation.

I found this MIT OCW "Writing Workshop" youtu.be/G7p3lFMmDiQ I think a trap that amateurs like myself run into w/math writing is not maintaining a consistent idea of the audience, particularly because of a lack of true understanding of a "stable audience" for whom to write.

New lambda shorthand syntax just dropped. Coalton hasn't had enough controversial features.

Last time I complained about packaging apps on Linux, people said it was all a well solved problem. Guess I have skill issues because: - Wayland and X have different ways to copy-paste - libwebkit2gtk-4.0 minor version bumps breaks API compatibility Frustrating...

Packaging apps for Linux in a way that is even somewhat portable across distros is incredibly frustrating. No wonder every distro effectively builds all their apps from scratch within their own package manager bubble.

If a coffee shop starts advertising pictures like these, it's guaranteed to have undergone the coffee-equivalent of enshittification.

I put a bounty on a Coalton issue (add syntax highlighting support in another non-Coalton project) and in less than 5 hours some unknown people started pushing AI-generated PRs to this other project. Makes Coalton look bad. Never thought I'd need to actually moderate on GitHub.

Closed/deleted the bounty. It was a bad idea on my part 100%. "I will pay you to interact with someone else's repository on Coalton's behalf" as a public offer was a mistake.
