These are the outcomes of recruiting by selling posts and personal favours. The BMA commissioner and Home Affairs DG must tell us how border guards are evaluated before appointment.
NEWS: Two South African nationals believed to be working for the Border Management Authority (BMA) have been detained in Swaziland for alleged corruption. According to information from the Times of Eswatini, sources within the Crown (Swazi courts) and immigration, the two were arrested with two officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs in Eswatini. They allegedly accepted a bribe from a Zimbabwean national identified as Bhumure Tuarai to get his passport stamped at the busy Oshoek border gate between SA-Swazilandlegitimise his stay in South Africa. The purported BMA officials allegedly crossed to Swaziland to get their accomplices to stamp the passport and come back to South Africa. And they were caught with a R100 inside the passport. It has been alleged that Zimbabweans living in Mpumalanga province find it difficult to go to Beitbridge to get their passport stamped and since then they have been using the Oshoek Border gate to commit the fraud - KZN Tonight Podcast ๐Ÿ“ธ Times of Eswatini ***There is no official comment from the BMA yet.

I have always questioned the hiring practices of this country because of the quality of officials working in government. Systemic dysfunction combined with poor leadership that trickles down to the subordinates who take no pride in their work or value public service.
Members of March and March found a Home Affairs employee drinking beer during working hours while wearing his official Home Affairs uniform.

NEWS: The South African government has rebuked Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), for falsely claiming that Ethiopian nationals were killed in the country due to xenophobic attacks. It pointed out that the death Ghebreyesus claimed were, in fact, results of organised crime - KZN Tonight Podcast

How did they come to SA? Did the state facilitate their entry? One can't claim to love South Africa and its people and support EFF,DA or ANC.EFF made it clear it doesn't support constitutional amendments ie,Preamble & Bill of Rights.

Whether this is an accurate or not, public hospitals and clinics should not be spending billions on foreign nationals. Everyone non-citizen and permanent resident should have travel/medical insurance to enter the country, incl from visa exempt nations.
#BreakingNews Over 79% of babies born in Gauteng public hospitals are by foreigners.

If you keep insisting on misrepresenting South Africans and their legitimate concerns around illegal immigration, don't expect constructive engagement.
I have stopped going to South Africa for any international conferences for mainly 3 things. 1. Border police rudeness: Some years ago I was invited for a conference on conflicts in the Horn in South Africa. I showed email invite to the border policeman at the desk. He rudely asked: "but why can't you people hold your peace conferences in your homes. Why always come to South Africa?" - I think he had a point. Why must we? Second time it was worse - "But why are you Zomallis and Ethiopians always here." I reminded him I was actually Kenyan, and I was only in the country for 2 days for an international conference Reply: "Sheh, um, eh. But what is the difference" 2. As soon as locals figure out you are a black person, possibly African from another country, the automatic assumption is that you are an illegal migrant. You see immediate hostile reaction. Honestly, I found SA one of the most miserable places on earth in terms of peoples' attitude to foreigners. The visceral hatred towards fellow Africans is unnerving. Still one of the most beautiful geographies in Africa. 3. The state bureaucracy and departments filled with people who actually know very little about the outside world. Most of the best people who made South Africa an outward-looking African power are gone. All remaining are small-time apparatchiks stealing from the state and fat toads serving as diplomats. I feel sorry for South Africa.

Look at UN globalists coming out to slander South Africa with disinformation. You didn't say anything about the protests in the UK,the Trump ICE raids or similar misgivings about immigration in Japan and South Korea. Mind your business.
It is profoundly heartbreaking to witness another surge of xenophobic violence in #SouthAfrica this week. Hundreds have marched on Parliament, thousands of families have been displaced, and lives have been tragically cut short. These include at least five Ethiopians killed earlier in the attacks, and five Mozambicans who died in Mossel Bay. Thousands more are now fleeing for their lives. To see South Africa turn to xenophobia is a tragic betrayal of the country's struggle for independence and freedom. African nations stood united to dismantle apartheid. Ethiopia proudly supported "Madiba," Nelson Mandela, in 1962 and issued him a passport so he could travel the continent. Other countries helped in many ways, including with political and financial support. Disagreements and grievances must be addressed by the justice system and the rule of law, never through vigilante violence and collective punishment. South Africa deserves better. Africa deserves better. Stop the hate. Protect the vulnerable. Uphold our shared humanity.

Awa...they want public submissions again? They must account for the previous public participation exercise. Thousands of submissions were made.
Well, @ParliamentofRSA has once again called for public inputs on possible constitutional amendments. For those who may not know, the Constitution itself allows for amendments through Section 74. In other words, the Constitution was designed to be amended where Parliament and the people believe change is necessary. Parliament is currently receiving legal opinions on submissions made during the previous Constitutional Review process, including SACR's submission. We therefore hope Parliament will also provide South Africans with feedback on the outcome of that process and explain how those submissions were considered. As we did before, we the people of South Africa will once again make our voices heard by participating in this process. I will share the submission link and further details soon. Public participation should not end when submissions are sent. Citizens deserve to know what happens next. #Constitution #AccountabilityMatters #parliament

I am interested in accountability. What happens now? @NPA_Prosecutes Home Affairs needs reform if not a complete overhaul. โ–ช๏ธFundamental change of administrative processes, permits, visas and passport approvals must be handled by employees with high level clearance. โ–ช๏ธCreate constitutionally empowered specialised Home Affairs Investigative Bureau to monitor, investigate and prosecute employees instead of relying on SIU Presidential Proclamations,or external agencies. Home Affairs is a national security-critical agency.
