Instead of putting basic safety rules in place and enforcing their compliance, the Govt finds it much easier to offer ex-gracia payments that are useless to passengers who are dead.

Replying to @PMOIndia
An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each of the deceased due to the bus fire in Nashik. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000: PM @narendramodi

Preventing the degradation of our tourist sites is a necessity. Adamant weights of trash are found here everyday. Responsible tourism can prevent imposing a new identity on them. We must understand appropriate conduct to follow and individually reduce polluting a tourist location

But in my city cycle tracks are being removed as cars and 2 wheelers often get stuck in congestion!!!
New rule: If a driver complains about a cyclist riding in the middle of the street on a street without a bike lane, the city has to put a protected bike lane on that street immediately. No council approval needed. We must get the bikes out or the way of these VIPs

Based on past experience he will be let off on bail and allowed to continue his crooked ways with full support of his leaders.
“On suspicion of being Muslim” Let’s repeat that to ourselves until it dawns on us how deeply rotten we’ve become as a society, for having basically dehumanised and criminalised an entire community. This is a deeply shamed & sickening state of affairs in our country. 💔

Now whose turn is it?
Winds of change, @narendramodi 's friend @ScottMorrisonMP also voted out in Australia although he cooked Modi's favourite Khichdi to get #Australian Indian Votes. Earlier, Modi's good friend @Trump whom he endorsed was voted out in USA.

Lesson for our cities?
The culture of a city is reflected in how fast a pedestrian crosses the street and how much guilt they are feeling for blocking the traffic. The goal should be a normal pace and zero guilt. The reality in many places is a jog and a hand wave to apologize for existing.

Why then are trees the first victims of road making in many of our cities?
Streets designed for parked and moving vehicles have many costs for society. Urban heat ( its consequences) can be added to that list! Read how to change this: waterstones.com/book/movemen… #Movement

The Great Pandemic Reset Continues: SF mayor recommends permanently banning cars from a park road pedestrianized in 2020. NYC's Central Park went car-free in 2018. Driving through a park is a personal convenience. A park without cars is a public service. sfchronicle.com/sf/article/S…
