Today, through any work I do, I ask “How can I, through this work, reveal structural racism at play? Reveal the distinct and shared ways that anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism work? Notice what PH can do? Notice what PH is not doing?” #4/4 #PH24SP
In 2016, I was on the conference committee for the @CPHA_ACSP conference and part of a working group that designed a plenary on racism as a public health issue. It was a new conversation - at the time - for the conference. My colleague @sumeeyoh moderated the panel 2/4 #ph24sp
It was a big deal, and at the time, was reported as the best evaluated conference plenary in CPHA history! We did part 2 next year. The @NCCDH_CCNDS has since published a suite of resources on racism and Whiteness as a PH issue #PH24SP

For the 3rd time, Black Medical students from across 🇨🇦 gathered together. The sense of community, hope, resilience and pride in the BMSAC's achievements was palpable. This year we got to meet alongside a powerful activist of the Black Canadian community, @DesmondCole ✊🏾
