idk why people are so stingy with kudos anyway. It’s not like they’re limited or you can go back and search them, they really do nothing other than tell someone you enjoyed your stay. so why not leave the author one?

The only time I’ve never left one is if I truly didn’t like the fic enough to even finish it. But if I finished it, I leave one because why not? It kept my attention, and the author worked hard. It doesn’t hurt to be nice.

I think the kudo debate is stupid in general, but a key piece of information people aren't considering is that the kudo-to-hit ratio will always look insane bc you can only ever leave 1 kudo. even if there are 20 chapters, or you read a fic 20 times. It’s only ever 1 kudo

I’m getting so tired of these popular “hot take” accounts about fanfic. they will make such a big deal about how people need to treat writers in their fandoms better, then in the same breath turn around and say they won’t read anything under x amount of kudos per so many hits.

I genuinely don’t look at kudos when I’m reading fics. I consistently stay in the most recently posted filter so half the stuff I read only have 4 kudos anyway because it was posted yesterday 🤷♀️
