our Map App features has been one of our most successful new feature-sets we've ever launched - and now we are cranking out tons of new apps!
a fun new one is the Aurora map! it'll show you where the aurora is visible today and you can even get a notification if it'll be visible nearby
notifications are a big next step in this... since i think it's low hanging fruit for a big retention win (e.g. "there's a whale nearby!" if you have whale tracker on)

i really like this new "under an hour" map app that's coming on the next Superlocal update!
it takes your fog of world check-in history and instantly finds places you’d probably love within a 1 hour drive.
basically a quick, personalized map for "where should i go today?"

after you finish your check-ins, you can enter "fly-by mode" and replay your day on a 3D @mapbox map
or zoom out and watch your fog of world clear from an aerial view

your results are now even more personalized to you, with a new “why this place” reason shown for each recommendation

i don’t think enough people realize Swarm is actively being worked on again
just added a new heatmap feature that shows what’s “swarming” nearby, plus some really fun new visualizations of your check-ins on the map
feels like the beginning of a much more alive Swarm

we just shipped another new map app in superlocal that feels weirdly interesting!
using @Foursquare data, we made a “closed places” map layer
now you can open the map and see all the places nearby that used to exist
ghosts of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, stores, and old routines 👻

one of my favorite very beta features: you can @ mention yourself and ask questions about your world.
