My thanks to the entire @@ASIS_Intl organization for the honor of receiving the 2018 ASIS Book of the Year Award (bit.ly/2QMSvMx). I am grateful for this prestigious recognition by the world's largest membership organization for security management professionals.
Hey, @BMW, are you aware that your dealers and support engineers are telling customers that your advanced driver assistance lane-keeping feature is "buggy and can't be fixed"?
I just showed my support for UNICEF and the children. Check out UNICEF USA to learn what they are doing, and how you can help too. unicefusa.org/stories/unicef…
If @onepeloton is up,for sale, I hope that @Apple gets it. Several of the other speculative acquirers would be a seriously negative brand hit for PTON.
Fun fact: with last year's #proptech#venture#funding widely reported as $32B, and total venture investments pegged at $643B (WSJ), #proptech is 5% of all venture investing for the year. Pretty cool.
With even Taco Bell getting on board, I think maybe we are reaching "peak subscription," in case anyone in #security still doubts that customers prefer #SaaS.

I’m a little baffled as to why more people #stranded on #I95 in Virginia weren’t kept from that fate by seeing that their #mobile mapping apps warned of congestion. Or maybe many did and it would have been much worse. Anyone know?
Over the holidays I happened to read a security product review that described a $4,000 device as "expensive." Is $4,000 a lot to spend on, say, protecting 4,000 people in a $100M building? Does it make sense to accept this characterization of value?
One more for the holiday learning theme: Clayton Christensen's Competing Against Luck. People don’t buy products or services; they “hire” them to do a job. What job are customers hiring your product to do?bit.ly/3eEiDqc
The holidays are a great time to learn new things. So if you've always been curious about Machine Learning but afraid to ask, try "the best AI course you've ever watched" by Cassie Kozyrkov, Chief Decision Scientist at Google. Highly recommended. bit.ly/3qzrGhA
I'm honored to acknowledge Lynn de Séve, winner of the @SIAonline 2021 Lippert Award. As a former recipient of this award, I'm proud to be in great company with an individual who has made an incredible impact on the security industry, through their leadership and integrity.
A big day for @BrivoInc. We're very proud to have reached this stage of growth and look forward to all the great things we'll be able to do going forward with #CrownPropTechAcquisitions.
We're seeing rising use cases for facial detection that don't run into the legal and privacy quandaries of facial recognition.

If you are making a #Proptech app, chances are that you will need to authorize users to go in and out of physical spaces. That’s what we do @BrivoInc, with the most nuanced, robust, and widely used #accesscontrol#API in the world.
#Accesscontrol is now fundamental to #proptech, because if you can’t measure and manage the flow of people, you can’t measure or manage anything else in the built world.
