kind of disappointing that Net Yaroze and the WonderWitch were pretty much the last of their kind
no officially-licensed hobbyist SDK like that ever got released for a console since then, and most of the tools for later systems are wayy too beginner (dreams, game maker garage)

This fact seems to always get swept under the rug but I refuse to not bring it up whenever retroarch is mentioned; i don't care how much jingling keys and CRT shaders retroarch adds, I'd rather use a standalone emu instead rather than something thats been a net loss for emulation
