Bullshit! it’s wild seeing this kind of backward thinking same with Nigerian police. My first car in 2019 came from graphic design money, and that same income helped me relocate. This field can do a lot more if you approach it right. One mistake a lot of you make is….

not just “a graphic designer.” Move away from those regular small flyer gigs and start sending proposals to real companies. You can even add print services without owning any machines, just partner with a printing company and take your cut.

Maybe use this same energy on the jobs you already have, not pitching yourself to celebrities who clearly have a designer or design teams. He’s not obligated to accept or acknowledge your proposal.
I pitched these to him last year by the way. I quoted him and hundreds of people tagged him to the post but he did as if he didn't see it.

You can see the pattern with those choosing to join PayPal, most of them only started freelancing after COVID, so they can’t really relate to the struggles freelancers faced back when the dollar was still ₦200. They simply don’t have that context.
It’s okay if you want to boycott PayPal and Paga.
But trying to recruit other people, that’s absolute witchcraft.
Some of us need this partnership for many reasons.

I bet if they’ve never lost even $1 to PayPal, or had to deal with PayPal middlemen telling you account is locked or forcing their own exchange rate because you don’t have any choice. You came into freelancing when things were already easier so you don’t have any clue.

Finally, I owe thanks to my wife for holding our family together. During this difficult period, she passed her driving test, completed NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, and the Pearson English exam, all while working two jobs. She carried a heavy load but didn’t break.

I know 3 people who have experienced a similar situation to mine due to visa sponsorship requirements and eventually got laid off or frustrated to resign willingly. If you ever notice signs of being pushed out because of visa sponsorship issues, please start looking for job

We have our business now and currently working on our third project for a University here in the UK. I also got my Sheffield taxi license in July and things are getting better. I get to meet different people, drive to different places within and outside Sheffield.
