Classic TO scene. Brand new University bike lanes, built by the city at some expense, wholly occupied by what appears to be a city contracted truck forcing riders into busy traffic. The guy behind the wheel was on his phone, of course. You’d almost be disappointed if be wasn’t.

BREAKING: This photo, of the same arena, is being circulated by the Biden campaign because it puts on full display the energy and enthusiasm being invested in the Biden campaign and the emptiness of the Trump campaign. Retweet so every American sees this photo.

Ten years ago, Broadway was a multi-lane street full of cars. Today, it’s permanently car-free, and I don’t think we’ll look back. We need a lot more of this, everywhere. x.com/travis_robert/status/1…

In cities that reduce speed limits to 30 km/h (20 mph) cycling rates surge, traffic injuries plummet and kids spend twice as much time playing outdoors. reasonstobecheerful.world/ca…

When it comes to designing a successful cycling street, the devil is in dozens of details—like the asphalt, curbs and width. To get them all right the first time, Vienna decided to bring in the Dutch for a “copy, deconstruct, adapt, then paste exercise”. dutchcycling.nl/knowledge/ge…

There is something quite special about cycling through the car-free streets of Manhattan (and the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island). The joy. The togetherness. The experience of taking back a piece of the city just for one day. Thanks @BikeNewYork for making it happen.

Horrific heat wave all across Asia. Lethal conditions caused by oil, gas and coal. We have to choose: we can continue building new fossil fuel projects and watch as millions suffer and die. Or we can stop, actually begin a just transition, and build a safer world.

Urban mobility can be complex. But a birds-eye view shows us that the math of optimal use of road space is remarkably simple! 41 x 🚴 > 9 x 🚗. (📸 of Nørreport, #Copenhagen by Henrik Lundorf Nielsen)

Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users. ALL ROAD USERS. And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s safer to NOT have them. Via @StreetsblogUSA usa.streetsblog.org/2019/05/…

Selling the car as the mobility solution for our cities was probably one of the most impressive policy scams of the 20th century. (video excerpt from an @Uber commercial)
