A day in Manhattan, warped so that distance ≈ drive time. Drive times swell in the morning and evening rush hour, then contract in the night.

I genuinely do not get the bangerlore hate at all. I was there. I asked for an invite last minute (didn’t use my Twitter account) and was let in. There were people from various stages in their careers and/or entrepreneurial journeys. I met a bunch of fresh grads and interns too. The crowd wasn’t even limited to tech. Everyone was doing something cool. A lot of people walked out with potentially life-changing leads and perhaps even very clarifying takeaways from conversing with all the smart people around. I’m now more inclined to believe that most people hating on it are doing it out of saltiness from the fact that they couldn’t attend it.

And of course there were a few weirdos here and there. Weirdos slip into my own house parties sometimes. Wonder how it’s even possible to control that on a city-scale event.

I can’t believe that Cursor’s composer-2.5 is real. It’s beautiful. I have enough time now to thoroughly go through the code it writes, and that doesn’t even affect my shipping speed because it’s SO MUCH faster than most other models out there. So fast that the IDE sometimes ends up lagging because it can’t keep up with the model. The disconnect between me and my codebases is reducing, I’m working faster than ever, and I’m saving so much money. Couldn’t have asked for more wins. Composer-2.5 is a work of art.

Thinking of organizing a co-work in Bangalore this July: a bunch of us in the same room building weird, whimsical, and possibly unnecessary AI agents all day. Who's in? Coffee's on me ofc ☕️

i could definitely afford my own computer. my dad bought me one in 5th class. clearly you're optimizing for engagement, but please don't make stuff up. it does a disservice to people who actually don't have the privilege.

if you have a toddler, you learn that they generally dislike transitions. like they'll resist going to take a bath, and then they'll also resist getting out of the bath. then you realize that transitions just require energy and adults don't like them either
A real high level Wageslave move is to get home and sit in your car for 30 minutes.

Today is a day I am unexpectedly coming across some very good advices and reads… this is one of them…
Published something on substack. Some speculation, mostly out loud, on what AI is doing to the Indian CS graduate. open.substack.com/pub/tailwi…

open.substack.com/pub/nakjak… Modern Systems reduce people into abstractions: credit scores, resumes, productivity, profiles The Illiad strangely made me notice something similar beneath all the war and violence, a similar binding fate. Wrote an essay exploring the idea.

There are only ~5 people I know who still remember that they possess the ability to sit down and formulate their own thoughts and opinions on both personal and world-related subjects.

Your 3AM crises don’t need a conversation with an LLM. There’s something very human about the idea of not having to reach to a conclusion all the time.
