So much has already been said about Oliver Tree’s passing, but I don’t think people fully grasp how much he inspired an entire generation of creators, myself included.
He was goofy, kind, insanely talented, and completely unapologetic about being himself. Most people are lucky to have one of those traits. He had all three.
More than anything, he showed us creators that you don’t have to fit into a mold. Who cares about genres? Forget sticking to one thing. Just make what you want to make and be yourself.
I know his creative impact will stay with me and so many others for the rest of our lives. Rest in peace, Alien Boy.
