Ontario’s heading to the polls on Feb 27, 2025—and Urban Indigenous voices matter more than ever. With most Indigenous people in Ontario living in cities, provincial policies shape our lives: healthcare, housing, education & more. Friendship Centres advocate for our rights. Stay tuned for key election dates, priorities & ways to make your voice heard. #UrbanIndigenousVote #SupportFriendshipCentres

President Biden will deliver an historic apology to the survivors and families of America’s Indian Boarding School era. Children stolen, forced to assimilate, language beaten out of them, abuse and neglect of every kind. An American genocide to be reckoned with, finally. Taking you back to three years ago when I had the privilege of covering the repatriation of nine Lakota children who were marched far from home to attend the Carlisle Indian Boarding School in Pennsylvania & died before they ever made it back. Their return into the womb of their homelands of the Rosebud Sioux Nation was one of the most powerful ceremonies I’ve ever witnessed. Generations lost. Generations broken. But the new generation, the one they couldn’t extinguish, rises in healing and reclamation.

COP16 on biodiversity is as crucial as climate COPs. Healthy ecosystems regulate climate, store carbon, and enhance resilience to extreme weather. Let's push for ambitious targets to protect 30% of land and sea by 2030! #COP16 #Biodiversity2024 #30x30

Reflecting solemnly today on the magnitude that October 7, 2023 had and continues to have on students, families & staff, particularly those who identify as Jewish, Muslim and Palestinian. We all have a role to play to help eliminate acts of antisemitism & anti-Muslim hate. ☮️
