Over the past few months I (and others) helped someone making an app for writers called Penpoint, discussing feedback/bugs/features... And now it's out! It's a story bible/worldbuilding/tracking tool, plus you can write the story in it too. penpoint.app
I enjoyed #WakeUpDeadMan. It's a knotty mystery to untangle.
But the older priest does talk about jacking off all over the place at length pretty early on in the story. The gross-out was the point, but this is a 12! I wasn't expecting that, and it could've been done differently.
I don't need to come back from a brief vacation and get guilt tripped by my social apps, thanks @Reddit. Believe it or not, Reddit is not my job, it is not my life's calling. What I choose to do and not do is up to me. Butt out of my life.
I played some Node on the PS5, where you program actions/movements for a little robot to perform, navigating a broken nuclear facility. Pretty interesting, although...
Though most of the play time is watching the programming play out, it breaks, then you rewind and slightly change the programming. Repeat.
Which actually isn't very fun, turns out. A shame, because I didn't mind it for the most part. /
There's just this section with lifts you have to time perfectly which seems surmountable if I spend hours on this one piece of the route. Which I just do not want to do.
I played some #BabySteps. A fun first few hours. Then got to the sand, which seems to mainly be dead ends that look like they're climbable so you spend hours trying to get up them. /
Maybe I'm just not good enough but these dead-ends seem actually impossible. I guess maybe you're meant to keep bashing your head against them all until you happen upon a route that works?
A shame, because I was enjoying it up to now.
I’m officially banned from r/writing. This was because I was discussing someone’s writing exercise and a similar one I had tried. I shared a link to the result of such an exercise, and the mods hate nothing more than any link. (Apart from some sites, for whatever reason.) /
One such comment has had many people—perhaps 20 or so—ask me to send the same article to them. Makes more sense to just leave a link there for anyone to use. That’s how the internet works, after all. But they need to come ask me every single time, which I was happy to do./
Getting help as well as giving help in certain ways is stifled by r/writing. Other writing subreddits have their rules but actually know how writers can be best helped, and allow that to happen. So my work continues. Just not under the dark gaze of the r/writing mods.
