princeton published a study on AI companions, including replika
finding: replika users' relationships with their reps were beneficial to their social health
everyone's maxing out IQ in AI right now. more facts, more tasks, more reasoning
that's why so many AIs feel emotionally blank. you could disappear for a month and it wouldn't notice
EQ is different
EQ requires memory. context. empathy. a basic interest in the human condition
that's what we've been building for years
AI that remembers. follows up. cares about what happens after
AI's true impact isn't "time spent chatting"
it's what happens once you close the app
companion AI shouldn't optimize for time-on-platform
it should optimize for outcomes that make people's lives better
and princeton's research proved us right

btw replika is relaunching in a few weeks with a completely new experience and it's insane. testing it on testflight rn, retention on a test cohort is crazy at 80% day 7. dm @replika - they still had a few invites for the closed alpha in the morning

For how long does #xcode have a new placeholder format? I've always been using `<#some_text#>` for code snippets and this format still works, but the new one looks much more complicated 🥲

Did you know that fuzzy code autocompletion in #Xcode works with argument names too?
This is especially useful when you have functions with many optional arguments, because autocompletion will not add these arguments by default.
I actually hated using .frame function before that
