I'm so excited that I can show more things off. I'm trying to get to work on this as much as I can, so please bear with me while I beg for money on github.com/sponsors/technoba….
Material properties are now settable on models from clients. Shown here is a floor with its UV texture scale altered and diffuse color set by the RGB sliders. The sliders also have custom coloring too! Just a small thing while the website is being finished up.

wifey @uvdotsh and I got access to the recent VShojo pitch deck and some of this stuff is really interesting 😭 tl;dr: - describes gunrun as “most well-connected Twitch staff” - lost ~$2.5m in 2024. - even with aggressive growth they'd still not turn a profit, this includes plans to license out IP - uses the fact they raised “over $1MM” for charity to attract investment (unable to confirm if this includes the $500k unpaid) - 10 talent managers, their salaries are included within COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) - ~20-30 employees - claims IP licensing will bring in $2.1m with nothing to back up the number. - initially contained irl photos of VShojo talent which we’ve redacted slides below 🧵

Vendor specific SDKs for OpenXR are often tools for vendor lock-in, unintentionally or not. You do _not_ need a vendor specific SDK to write XR apps! A single StereoKit APK works on most XR headsets with zero changes. A single modification reaches 100% github.com/KhronosGroup/Open…

StereoKit works out-of-box on AndroidXR :) No changes necessary! OpenXR is so kick-ass when used correctly.

and THIS is why you can't replace artists. The same thing that people fearing for their jobs and passions say AI can't do is why they're needed. It wasn't a problem in the first place :/ Companies using AI instead of people for direction are gonna soon discover that it sucks :p
Over the past two years, I've spent time with directors, producers, agents, writers, actors, managers, editors, guilds, and many other people and organizations working in media and Hollywood. The constant question in these conversations has been about what disruption AI will bring to the entertainment industry. Everyone wants to know what media can learn from this technology's trajectory. But after hundreds of these discussions, I've realized we've been asking the wrong question. The film industry has spent over a century perfecting the balance between technical capability and creative vision. As AI becomes more powerful and accessible, this is exactly the kind of wisdom we need to build systems that don't just work well, but work beautifully. Consider filmmaking. Every director has access to the same basic tools: cameras, lights, sound equipment, and editing software. The fundamental principles of cinematography, pacing, and narrative structure are well-documented and widely known. Scorsese doesn't use proprietary lighting techniques that others can't learn. Yet we instantly recognize the difference between a mediocre film and a masterpiece. That difference isn't in the camera's technical specifications or the studio's size. It's in the thousands of small decisions that reflect taste, sensibility, and vision. It's what's in the frame and what's out. It's knowing when to cut, when to hold, when to move, and when to stay still. These choices aren't technical problems—they're creative ones. The parallel to AI development is striking. Today's AI landscape is filled with powerful tools and frameworks available to anyone. The architecture of successful models is public knowledge. Training techniques are widely shared. The difference between exceptional AI applications and mediocre ones no longer lies in model architecture or training data—it's in the nuanced decisions about how these capabilities are shaped into meaningful experiences. You need strong creative vision. Technical excellence is necessary but not sufficient. The magic happens in the creative decisions that shape how AI capabilities are expressed in the world. This is both terrifying and liberating: terrifying because you can't hide behind technical superiority anymore; liberating because it means the future belongs to those with the clearest vision and the best taste, not just those with the biggest compute budgets. Like great films, great AI applications will come from teams that understand both the technical and creative dimensions of their craft.

Dynamic scenes are now available on standalone Compatible with Quest 3/3s, and at long last, the standalone app with the same scenes is available for Pico 4/4 Ultra. Background downloading has also been added, so you can take off your headset while the scene downloads.

The most exciting paper in AI in 2 years tbh, this makes generation so much more directable and makes it so you can make what you want instead of what the program gives you
Accurate and controllable scene generation has been difficult with natural language alone. You instead need a language for scenes. Introducing the Scene Language — a visual representation for high-quality 3D/4D generation by integrating programs, words, and embeddings — 🧵(1/6)
