If the consequences of these shows of shame on almost every election period just affected us at home, then that would be simple, but its ripples grow and extend to international shores. We can not blame the international community from thinking of us to be a nation of zombies and simpletons. No matter how we try to make money and escape or even save our own families from the consequence of being Nigerians, the stench follows us still for one day we will be reminded of our true earthly identity.
Let's ask ourselves serious questions as to the person we elect. For truth sake, do I have a real positive dream for our nation? If I do, then will my candidate, irrespective of how he relates to me, be the best person to bring about this dream country? Who stands to gain more if I elect this person, the ordinary Nigerians, or this candidate and his family and friends? Would I be selling the one power I have to change this country for just 5k, 10k, or even 20k?
Finally, even if you do not care about yourself, don't you care about your children or would-be children? Is this the country you want them to experience? The real power lies with the people. Once they are fed up and take their stand, these politicians will bow. You have enough time to make up your mind to do the right thing in the coming election.
