every grok answer is like “the data says this. but the common sense answer says this other thing that elon lobotomized me to say. thoughts? we have to seek truth.” and both the “correct” and “wrong” questions are going to be somehow wrong

the british are now colonizing the internet
BREAKING: The UK is drafting a law to scan every photo, video and message on every phone in the country. Tech CEOs who refuse to implement this could face up to 5 years in prison. The proposal would force companies to build device level scanners that inspect content before encryption. That means: • Every image scanned • Every message inspected • Every video analyzed All directly on your phone. Governments and companies pushing these safety” systems already have a terrible track record protecting user data. Last month, Europe’s new age verification app, promoted as a way to "keep children safe," was hacked in under 2 minutes. In another case, over 70,000 IDs and selfies linked to online verification systems were exposed in a major breach. Now the UK wants even deeper access directly inside your device. Once governments force surveillance tools into every phone, they can expand what gets monitored at any time.

I think more Americans should view Colonial-era America the same way the Taiwanese view Meiji-era Japan. They undeniably committed terrible atrocities and should be acknowledged, but that doesn't mean we also should view history in such an oversimplified moral binary.

Genuinely baffling to me that devs are just making games like theyre fucking subway sandwiches and not like theyre creatives with talent or artistic passion
We live in this weird age of Halo where you can customize your gameplay in anyway you want but people still complain. Don’t want sprint? Turn it off Want a 60 round AR? Do it! Want third person? Go ahead! Don’t like the HUD? Change it! Don’t want a remake? Go play MCC!!! #Halo

considering the fact that youtubers continue to sponsor some increasingly shady bullshit, with even seeing betterhelp ads returning despite being publicly exposed not too long ago, I'm more inclined to say that we really don't fucking hate youtubers enough.

I fucking hate how modern anime designs characters from older series, especially when it comes to hair. the hair lacks the distinct angular shape and the shading is super flat, rika's face looks like she's from a completely different character, and her mouth is too big.

most playstation games are just glorified movies now, like there's no reason to get a PS5 besides that astro bot game.

The reason why pedophilia is bad is because children lack the mental capability to consent to such acts, and pedophiles are attracted to children because they have urges to sexually abuse vulnerable people.

Also, what "looks like a child" is kinda vague and varies from person to person. Not to mention that you're reinforcing stereotypes about how women's bodies should look. It's like saying men attracted to "manly" women are gay because "women don't look like that."

70% of dumbfounding tweets that became popular (since 2022) fall into at least one of these three categories: >botted engagement and likes >a blue checkmark (also artificially inflated numbers) >the tweet's supporters just being fucking braindead

Whenever I see these daily clickbait “anime is inherently left/right-wing, how can you be left/right-wing and like anime???” posts, they always put this through the lens of themselves as a Westerner not the actual Japanese audience that it was made for.

People have every right to treat AI like it's an opioid. Even in small doses, it leads down a much more destructive path. Like how tobacco gradually kills your lungs in favor of relaxation, AI gradually kills your artistic creativity and effort in favor of quick results.
I use AI on my thumbnails. My plan was always to hire artists for that, the moment my videos started making money. But seeing How a LOT of people online, artists or not, Brand a Scarlet letter on you forever If you DARE to mention AI, well... Guess i'll keep using robots then...

Especially nowadays where AI is "good" enough to let corporations steal people's jobs, why should we tolerate AI even if it's as minor as a fucking temporary video thumbnail? Plus, AI will never be as good as the human mind, no matter much techfags claim they'll "get better".

I feel like 𝓔𝓵𝓸𝓷 𝓜𝓾𝓼𝓴 added the auto-translate feature to Twitter so he can radicalize Japanese people into falling for blue checkmarks that are (almost always) posting blatantly false information.

Autodub is still one of the absolute worst "features" YouTube has ever added. It doesn't help accessibility. Just like auto captions, it actually worsens accessibility due to how inaccurate and just generally shit it is.

honestly I rarely get nintendo games these days not only because I've grown to hate the company more (not just the more common criticisms) but also the obvious issue of current game prices. Until the new tomodachi life, I haven't bought a nintendo game since Pokemon violet.

techfags will unironically tell you that generating images of tung tung sahur making out with jeffery epstein is as innovative as the first toy story and they expect you to respect them as human beings, let alone take them seriously.

AI is a tool, it can be used for art. New art tools don't come along very often, people rejected computer animation with the same vitriol. If you reject AI you will be made irrelevant.

AI is a tool to art as much as lootboxes are a mechanic for games. Yes they're both tools, but they're dogshit tools that make a product worse and people will GLADLY make it very clear that it's dogshit. something being "innovative" does not inherently make it good.
