Mermaid diagram sucks 😒 The only reason to use them is that GitHub supports them out of the box. I'd rather use D2 [1] [1] d2lang.com

Recently discovered D2 by @terrastruct and really like it. Turns out generating a D2 diagram automatically from a Robot state machine isn’t too hard.

Do you generate any diagrams on the fly for your docs or code? I knew about Mermaid diagrams, but D2 was new to me. It looks like a clean syntax (and impressive toolchain) for going from text to diagrams ... d2lang.com/

Sometimes you run into tech which solves every issue you had and beyond. D2 from @terrastruct does that for me. I hate diagrams which can’t be sourced from human readable text. And these folks have done a great job to help that!

d2lang.com/ is quite a nice diagramming tool. We use it for internal/external docs & content creation.

Use D2, and you'll abandon mermaid d2lang.com
To the creators of MermaidJS, you would ask for bread and you will get 5 loaves of bread, two fishes and baddies on a yacht 🥹

Hey @terrastruct - D2 is amazing. Thank you for creating the first flowchart DSL that I actually *like* working in.

Dojo system architecture, based on v0.2.2 version, may contain errors. You can get more information through the documentation. book.dojoengine.org/cairo/he… The image is drawn using d2lang, my favorite modern diagram scripting language.

First try of integrating #D2 @terrastruct #texttodiagram into #VitePress while enhancing limited theme support and dynamic light/dark switch using inline #SVG. Highlight is the handdrawn sketch style. I need to create the missing markdown-it plug☹️-> d2lang.com/

I think it's only fair to do a follow up. On balance, the goal is achieved - I actually have the sources of diagrams in the markdown. The rendering is worser than hand drawn, but that's obvious. There are many rough edges, but it's incredible how good the baseline is
In my attempt to not let (future) diagrams in my blog to bitrot (or pixelrot), I'm giving d2lang.com/ a go. It looks incredible, and the fact that it's a single CLI producing static SVGs is really great for a static site generator - reducing client-side JavaScript.

D2 is now my favourite tool for creating diagrams. Write some code, and you can save the results as SVG. There's a CLI tool at github.com/terrastruct/d2, icons at icons.terrastruct.com/ and a web playground at tinyurl.com/53dzf7kz

D2 0.4.0 release is out! Introducing Grid diagrams, classes syntax, and more. github.com/terrastruct/d2/re…
I love Mermaid, but wish it could render a "stack", where relative vertical position of boxes is used to communicate relationships. Is there a text-driven tool that supports this?
