Dr. Wilder Penfield was a Canadian Neurosurgeon 🧠🇨🇦
He specialized in brain surgery for patients with severe epilepsy. Dr. Penfield mapped the function of different regions of the brain and found a map of the body, called the sensory "homunculus"- little man.

The thing that will set your child apart is teaching them what you already know. A parent is a child’s greatest teacher.
This week I brought back the neuroscience sticker sheet @theNeuronFamily designed with the Canadian Association for Neuroscience featuring famous Canadian neuroscientists.
For the past year, I’ve been casually teaching my daughter about Canadian neuroscientists during our car rides to school. She was thrilled to see them turned into adorable stickers.

🧠 Update: after a week of reminders in our daily conversation my daughter can now name three famous Montreal neuroscientists: Donald Hebb, Wilder Penfield, and Brenda Milner. She also has a superficial understanding of what they’re famous for.
