So good to hear her talking about this because yes - I’ve had multiple cis women call me “the best of both worlds” because they don’t see us as women, they see us as “safe men” basically. We’re not unicorns or fetishization toys, we’re just women. Some do get it, some don’t.

I know I haven't been around much recently, and I'm sorry for that. I just want to say that with everything going on in the world, you matter. If you're transgender, you are a friend and deserve the same rights that everyone else has. You're not monsters, you're people.

There are so many TERFs who fall right into what she's explaining. Especially when they often say, "you'll never be a woman because you didn't experience ________ ." And it's suffering under the patriarchy or such. They quite literally cannot grasp why anyone would transition, especially into a trans woman.

I genuinely wonder why it's so difficult for some people to understand that to be a "man" or "woman" is a social experience. It's not a biological one. Trans people's existence is literally proof of this. Any trans person who "passes" gets treated just like any other person of their preferred gender. Trans women will experience much of the same misogyny. Trans men will face the pressures of hegemonic masculinity. It's a social experience. Being born female with XX chromosomes doesn't give you the lived experience of being a woman from birth. You grow into that experience. It's sociological. It's not that hard.
