Held in São Paulo under the theme “One Voice,” the program brought together 18 farmers and agricultural leaders from 17 #countries for an intensive week focused on communication, science-based advocacy, policy discussions, and global agricultural challenges.

Farmers, You Have to Pay Attention! What you’re seeing here is not milk — it is an abscess. An abscess is a build-up of pus caused by infection, usually due to bacteria entering the udder through wounds, poor hygiene, or untreated mastitis. This condition carries severe pain for the animal. The affected area becomes swollen, hard, and may eventually burst, releasing thick, foul-smelling discharge instead of normal milk. For farmers, this is not just a health issue — it is a production loss: • Milk from the affected udder is not safe for consumption • The animal’s productivity drops significantly • If ignored, the infection can spread or worsen What causes this? • Poor milking hygiene • Injuries to the udder • Untreated mastitis • Dirty housing conditions What should you do? • Isolate the affected animal • Do not consume or sell the milk • Seek veterinary attention immediately • Improve hygiene in milking and housing Important lesson: What looks like milk can sometimes be a serious infection. Early observation can save your animal, your production, and your income.
