The closer Monero gets to activating FCMP , the more attacks the project faces. The same goes for GrapheneOS - the closer the release of the "GrapheneOS phone" (Motorola) gets, the more frequently (and more intensely than usual) the project is targeted by FUD.
Mike Kuketz has never had any role in the GrapheneOS project. He certainly isn't a GrapheneOS developer. He uses GrapheneOS and has a widely known privacy blog and community where he has written about it. That doesn't somehow make him part of GrapheneOS. x.com/CryptoCyberia/status/2…

Am I the only one who thinks Signal’s statements about leaving the UK are a sign of the project's weakness? If your project pays attention to the statements/"laws" of parasites, then your project is weak.

European "law"-abiding normies are in order. They’ll gladly pay any tax.

SCARY: 🇪🇺 Europe is currently building a tax system you can't escape. 👇

UPDATE: XmrBazaar is back online! 1984.host removed the abuse status. "These complaints were mostly DMCA complaints."

XmrBazaar's hosting provider 1984.is has shut down the VPS without warning due to abuse tickets we NEVER received notifications for. We had NO chance to respond. Good news: All data is fully backed up and safe! Worst case, XmrBazaar will migrate to a new provider.

The fight against Monero continues. I suggest adding this hosting service to the list of scams.

Re: Zcash Orchard: This sucks. It sucks this complex piece of work had a flaw, leading to hidden inflation in the Orchard pool. Their network is likely suited to handle it, for reasons I disagree with but are here justified, and I hope they do rotate to a new Orchard pool.

Please, call the Winklevoss brothers to save the price of Zcash.
Considering the chaos surrounding Zcash, the price of ZEC is holding up well. I hope the Winklevoss twins will save the price.

It will still be possible to install apps from unverified developers on Google Mobile Services operating systems. They're adding extra layers of warnings to discourage people from using it including an initial 24h wait to enable it. They're not blocking installing those apps.

Support the battle if you can. Free Roman Storm (.) com
By the way - I’m behind on legal bills, and this battle isn’t over. We may face a second trial. We may need to go through appeals. There are a lot of unknowns ahead, and every one of them costs money. If you can help, please donate at freeromanstorm.com. No amount is too small. Don’t hesitate to reach out.

The FCMP CARROT Beta Stressnet v2.0 has been released! github.com/seraphis-migratio… This is the v2.0 release of the FCMP and Carrot beta stressnet software. This release includes a hard fork from the beta 1.x network, which fixes a consensus issue with the reduced block long-term-median window. This release includes an automatic rollback mechanism, which means that you can run the daemon with an existing beta stressnet database. Because of this rollback, existing wallets must be re-scanned from restore height. This may require manual user invention to trigger the rescan. Notable new fixes include: - Connecting to an unrestricted RPC when the pool is large (#360) - Cross-platform wallet to daemon RPC (#370) - More accurate restore height estimate on wallet creation (#401) - Better connectivity after deep reorgs (#385) - Tx relay v2 bug fix (#384) The FCMP and Carrot beta 2.0 stressnet will hard fork from the current testnet on May 26, 2026, at block 3012000. Included below is the software you can use to participate in the beta stressnet. FCMP is a proposed upgrade to replace ring signatures with membership proofs that span the whole chain. When spending Monero, instead of making a ring signature proving you own 1 of 16 Monero outputs, you make a proof that you own 1 of the 150 million Monero outputs from across the entire Monero blockchain. Carrot is a proposed upgrade to Monero's addressing protocol, bringing new security, privacy, and usability features, while maintaining backwards compatibility with existing addresses. Both FCMP and Carrot have been in development for over 2 years, while research, security reviews, and audits have progressed in tandem. This beta stressnet will be the second live network testing the FCMP and Carrot integration open to the public.

the Monero-PSK addressing protocol is taking shape tevador wrote a draft to formalize it based on the earlier MRL discussions this will enable bitcoin like UX for wallet synchronization FRIENDLY REMINDER: project tachyon means that it will not be possible to recover funds from seedphrase and blockchain state in the future. when I first read this I thought it was a joke. Zcash wants to introduce tachyon and at the same time do the "this is the new bitcoin" pitch. It is just deluded and an insult to the audience. Their scaling roadmap destroys the store of value properties completely. Monero has objectively the better store of value proposition. There is no debate about this. And we have a path towards enhancing the lead in this regard. Improvements like Monero-PSK will lead us towards a wallet user experience that is similar to what people are used to with transparent store of value assets like Bitcoin. Our scaling roadmap is not fundamentally at odds with the Store of Value aspects of the currency. We get users to see their balance instantly and gain trust. While Tachyon will make Zcash uninvestable from a Store of Value perspective. Monero-PSK: gist.github.com/tevador/9169… No Seedphrase Recovery for Tachyon: x.com/spirobel/status/198287…
TLDR: Monero is ahead on scaling, we need to work out how to speed up wallet sync Friendly reminder: Project Tachyon is 5 people and claude code working on the wrong problem. Last year I wrote this article: monerochan.news/article/18 and we talked about it on this podcast: x.com/monerotopia/status/198… There was a follow up post comparing the batch verification time of the state of the art work that Monero's FCMP is based on: x.com/spirobel/status/199794… Nothing has changed since then. There are still no TPS benchmarks for Tachyon and there is zero credible evidence that they will do any better than the failed Project Mina. It also made outrageous claims that it can scale to infinity. Tachyon ran on this absurd "TPS don't matter anymore" narrative as well. Now they have pivoted to talking about quantum computers. The Monero community should become more outspoken about the fact that the CPU bound proof verification work is the bottleneck and not state contention like project tachyon wrongly assumes. FCMP is based on curve trees which is the current state of the art peer reviewed research with the best batch verification time. (as mentioned earlier: there are follow up papers that improve on this even further. There is clear path to widen the gap even more) Node level throughput is determined by the minimum required core count. If that is set to something reasonable, we have to start thinking about end user wallets not being able to catch up, as currently they have to scan all transactions, everyone is making, all the time. To solve this issue I started writing down some notes that were discussed in this MRL session: x.com/MoneroResearchL/status…
