A quick thread here from a guy who has a book coming out today. This, below, some stranger named, apparently, Ross 39350836 (apparently of the Yorkshire 39350846's) buying a book in some snowy place, is amazing to me. I've been doing my odd, little podcast...

Here's the latest episode of The Memory Palace which, despite this dude's whole deal suggests, is, I'm told a "fun one." play.prx.org/listen?ge=prx_3…

I’m excited about this both because Nithya has been an extremely effective as my council person, driven, pragmatic, creative, and because Spencer Pratt is as appealing and as dumb as a bunch of wasps stuffed into a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Los Angeles City Council member Nithya Raman has overtaken Spencer Pratt in the race for L.A.’s next mayor. After trailing the Republican and former reality star in a distant third, Raman leapfrogged Pratt for second place after the latest round of ballots was counted on Sunday afternoon. variety.com/2026/politics/ne…

Stan Lee will return. ElevenLabs has struck an expansive deal with Stan Lee Universe to add the late Marvel Comics writer’s voice and likeness to its Iconic Marketplace, a collection of celebrity personality voices and likenesses that companies can license for commercial use. wp.me/pc8uak-1lHjzr

Plus Champagnie sounds like what a hobo in a Preston Sturgess movie calls moonshine.
I think it's cool that the Spurs have players named "Castle" and "Vassell", hopefully they will "go medieval" on OKC!

Late December 2020 I got a kidney stone. It was pretty bad. Needed to be extracted but couldn’t be as the hospitals were closed to all non-Covid procedures that weren’t life threatening. The only course was for me to wait and hope or wait till it 1/… nyti.ms/43lBLlP

…was not. It was brutal. I would be fine but I was still going to have to go through it for several days (what would turn out to be about a month in all of excruciating pain) and occasional real fear. 3/4

I got the procedure on January 6th. I woke up to “January 6th.” I would fall asleep from pain and meds and then wake up again to the shocking violence and chaos. Anyway, glad those dudes are going to get a nice chunk of 1.8 billion dollars for their trouble!

Countless America deliberately earn no more than $15,000 a year so they can give their brat kids thousands of dollars worth of fish knowledge on the tax payer’s dime
The Monterey Bay Aquarium charges $295 for a family membership or $125 for a single adult. With an EBT card, entry is free — and up to four guests get in free every visit. There is a ZERO incentive for these people to ever get off Food Stamps.

Trump: By sea, by ocean, by water. A lot of people say, “what do you mean by sea? Is it see? Like vision?” No, it’s sea, SEA.

If an alien came down to earth and you explained football and politics to them and then showed them this site, they would assume Diana Russini was the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys and Hasan Piker was president of the United States.

Kaleb was remarkable. The most California guy I knew. Singular and strange and charming as Hell, which always felt like a feat for a guy who couldn’t really look you in the eye. His tastes were so pure and specific, I’m going to be seeing Kaleb in them for the rest of my life.

Kaleb Horton died. He had a seizure, I don’t know anything else. He was one of the best writers I ever worked with. I like this picture where it looks like he was 500 feet tall.
