We've collected as many examples as we could remember into a Move code quality checklist. I bet your code doesn't check all items in this list, and if it does, I owe you a review This is how we write code today, tell everyone! move-book.com/guides/code-qu…

Display V2 is finally launching with Sui v1.68! We always wanted Display to support richer queries and be able to fetch dynamic fields or map attributes. Finally, we got there! 🧵

The docs will land any minute, and we've built a preview app with syntax highlighting and examples to help create new Displays All previously created Display objects will be registered in the DisplayRegistry through a system migration, so the only thing left is to claim it

Highly recommend taking a look. Move parts of the system are one of the best I’ve ever imagined for a game

For those hungry for syntactic sugar, here's a tiny dose. Already available in the stable 2024 edition. And yes, I know, how did we all miss this

Since its inception, the Sui Framework has had one privileged feature that we wanted to make more accessible: the ability to restrict a caller to being the owner of a type

After years of discussions, we finally settled on its implementation in the form of an "internal" module in the Standard Library. Rules are simple: the only way to create a Permit<T> is to be the defining module of T

We wish we had it for: - display - transfer_policy - transfer (maybe?) - currency (and most `Publisher` applications) Expect to see this signature more often. Display V2 will be the first one to adopt it within framework - stay tuned for this one!

Great write up on something I planned to share! Just please be aware that it’s a 2024.alpha feature, and there’re some caveats in devx when using it

Big! A new feature is landing in the @SuiNetwork flavor of Move, and it improves A LOT the way you test your packages Let me introduce you to "Module Extensions" 🧵

I am back. Nearly 6 months ago, we received a shocking cancer diagnosis for a family member. As I digested the grim diagnosis, I vowed to do everything in my power to change the course. And we did. For the last 5 1/2 months, I was a full time medical researche. My medical team and I have designed a treatment plan that's much more scientifically sound than the standard of care. We are developing new combo therapies and developing new drugs. And more importantly, we have already seen results beyond what was supposedly possible. We still have a long journey ahead. But the plan is in place and I'm more confident than ever we will beat this nasty disease. I'm excited to jump back to my other passion - moving the world to decentralized trust. It's good to be back.

Hacker team is doing jaw dropping stuff!

sui is the coordination layer that will allow robots to assign humans tasks in the future. the hacker team is hard at work to bring robotics to web3, showcased by the half time show at the gaming event featuring @kostascrypto the hacker team isn’t complete without some of the best engineers in the biz. humanizing the ppl behind the code, catch the @themoveguy’s rainy day photoshoot and @irvinxyz with his yeehaw robo dog

Derived addresses - a small change with a huge impact - just landed on Sui mainnet. Let's break it down 🧵

Why this matters for devs? You don’t need to store every “important” object anymore. Store the root, derive the rest. Think LPs, a common case: UID = Root Ticker. Indexing/discovery overhead? Practically gone.

Parallelism simplicity, without the pain of indexing. That’s the beauty of derived addresses. A small change, a giant leap for builders on Sui. Though we’re only scratching the surface — what use cases do you see? Share your ideas with us!
