PSA: there's virtually no value in having your body composition assessed. Body composition assessments (yes, even DEXA) are far less accurate and precise than most people realize. macrofactorapp.com/body-comp…

Too often trainers deviate from their plan because they’ve gotten excited about a new method of training. The best results can often be found with a relentless devotion to the basics. - @itscoachgoodman, Ignite the Fire #personaltrainer #personaltraining #fitnesscoach #fitpro

Successful personal trainers not only have passion for training, they’re able to incite passion in the clients as well. Your real job is to create an emotional connection with exercise for your clients so that they will look forward to working out and stay with it for life.

The science is clear: lifelong health and fitness can only be accomplished one way—regular exercise and a diet full nutrient-dense foods. #personaltrainers #bestpersonaltrainer #personaltraining #nutritioncoach #nutritioncoaching #nasmcpt #nasmcertified #nasm #nasmtrainer

You’re not a rock star. Many trainers fall into this trap of thinking. You (we) are not. Our clients are. Your role is to get them the best results possible, not to showboat or to spend time pumping up your biceps. Instead of talking about yourself, stop and LISTEN to them.

Despite all of the other amazing lifelong health benefits, initial motivation for most to workout is driven by sex. If we want to get more people moving we need to be honest with what motivates the masses to strength train. All that matters to me is that more people exercise.
Be personable, accessible, and vulnerable with your clients. Your clients are human and when you show them you are human as well, they feel heard and understood by you. This will help build relationships with your clients for years to come. - @itscoachgoodman, Ignite the Fire

Sending holiday cards boosts client retention and generates new leads. It's the simplest, cheapest, lowest-risk, and highest-reward way to show current and former clients how much you care. Every fit pro should send holiday cards. #ptdc #wfplist #wfpquicktip #clientretention

Don’t get it twisted: variation is ok. But it isn’t going to get you in great shape. The basics work best. Repetition is king, and the real secret to success is to choose an exercise you can crush, do it often, and make it your bitch. #fitnesstrainer #besttrainer #workouttime

Trainer Truth: The extra two seconds you take to approach somebody with a smile, shake their hand, give them a compliment, ask how they are doing, and wish them a good day could be all of the marketing that you’ll ever need. Agree?

As a trainer, your primary job is not to teach your client to activate their glutes, have you client perform 3 sets of 12 reps, or “block-periodize” a training regime. Your primary job is to make your client excited to work out and to have him or her love every single workout.
