Released in June and reaching #5 (for seven weeks), "The Wild Heart" was Stevie Nicks' second solo album, and comes very close to matching her debut as my favorite. "Stand Back", "If Anyone Falls", Nightbird", all excellent singles.

One of the 1st cassettes i ever bought (by saving up my lunch money for 2 weeks. It was worth starving for) was Laura Branigan's "Branigan 2". Classic singles "Solitaire" and "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You". One of my faves:

Eurythmics bookended 1983 with "Sweet Dreams" in January and "Touch" in November. I chose "Touch" as my Eurythmics inclusion (although both would have been on my list) because it includes the greatest synthpop song of the decade.

The opening and closing ("Maniac") tracks on "Flashdance" were two of the greatest soundtrack songs of the 80's (both hitting #1), but there was a lot of good stuff in between, with great songs from Laura Branigan and Kim Carnes.

Released in November, Cyndi Lauper's debut "She's So Unusual" was the first album from a female artist to generate four top-5 singles: "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" (#2), "Time After Time" (#1), "She Bop" (#3), and my favorite (#4)

Bonnie Tyler/Jim Steinman was a match made in bombast heaven. "Faster Than The Speed Of Night" went top 5 and platinum because of "Total Eclipse", but the entire album is a masterpiece of glorious excess

The Pointer Sisters had their biggest album with the 3X platinum "Break Out", which generated four top ten hits: "Automatic" (#5), "Neutron Dance" (#6), a slightly remixed version of 1982's "I'm So Excited" (#9), and my favorite (#3)

Most people pick "Escape" as their favorite Journey album, but "Frontiers" is my choice. Released in January, it includes the prom and wedding favorite "Faithfully", iconic rock anthem "Separate Ways" and my favorite Journey song.🥹

Def Leppard hit big with their 3rd album, "Pyromania", released in January. Selling over 10 million copies just in the U.S., it featured such radio mainstays as "Foolin;", "Rock of Ages", and one of the greatest rock songs of the 80s

"She Works Hard For the Money", Donna Summer's most successful post-disco album, was released in June and the title track was her biggest song of the 80's, reaching #3. The follow-up "Unconditional Love" missed the Top 40 at #43.

Released in October, "Rock & Soul, Part 1" was the 1st greatest hits album from Hall & Oates, with many of their classic singles, plus two new songs, both of which hit the top 10, "Say It Isn't So" (#2), and "Adult Education" (#8)

Even with a superfluous "U", "Colour By Numbers" was still the greatest Culture Club album. Released in October, with their #1 classic "Karma Chameleon", plus "Church Of The Poison Mind", "It's A Miracle", and my favorite CC song.

"Little Robbers" was the second gold album from The Motels, reaching #22 on the strength of "Remember The Nights" and especially the first single and their second top ten hit, the gorgeous haziness of "Suddenly Last Summer".
