I am absolutely tired of being in Nigeria space on X bcus nothing meaningful is discussed. Every write-up is about men and women cheating, condemning this and that gender. Nothing inspiring and educative. Too bad!! I am done with you people!!

So a Nigerian startup lost $12 million because their backend was deployed on “localhost”. Her name is Amaka, a senior frontend engineer. One faithful afternoon, she was inspecting elements on the company’s landing page when she noticed the “Buy Now” button was not aligned properly. As she was fixing padding, she mistakenly right-clicked and clicked “View Backend”. That was when she saw it the entire production database just sitting there in JSON. She tried to close it, but it had already seen her. Within seconds, hackers from 3 different continents entered the system through the CSS file. Money started transferring itself. Logs started deleting themselves. Even the API began to panic. But Amaka is experienced. She quickly opened Stack Overflow, copied a solution from 2013, pasted it into the console, and pressed Enter. Nothing happened. So she did the next best thing, she refreshed the page. Boom. Everything stopped. Hackers got logged out.
Database reset itself.
Even the money returned with interest. Her boss couldn’t believe it. They praised her bravery, her quick thinking, and her ability to center a div under pressure. That same week, her salary was increased from 200k to 205k (performance-based). This is a true story. Be like Amaka.

Earlier today @Extheo took the @blinkbtc stage with an insightful talk on why Lightning is winning the African settlement race. He shared how @mavapay is using the Lightning Network to make cross-border settlement between countries faster, cheaper, and far more seamless, without relying on stablecoin rails or expensive legacy systems. An interesting takeaway was that volatility is a holding risk, not a settlement risk. What matters is building infrastructure that simplifies payments for everyday businesses across Africa. #abct26

This PayPal matter further highlights the typical Nigerian. Stands for nothing, zero solidarity, self-centered, exploitative, low integrity, anywhere belle face, unprincipled, gullible, myopic, intemperate, impulsive, servile. Shame, your life didn’t stop since they left.

Researchers have found two new vulnerabilities in React Server Components while attempting to exploit the patches last week. These are new issues, separate from the critical CVE last week. The patch for React2Shell remains effective for the Remote Code Execution exploit.

We’re excited to have @Extheo, CEO and co‑founder of @mavapay, joining the #BtrustDeveloperDay lineup.🚀 Theo is a dedicated bitcoin advocate and builder working to expand bitcoin adoption and infrastructure across the African continent. As CEO of Mavapay, he’s pioneering payment systems that connect African businesses to the global bitcoin economy. An alumnus of the @btrust_builders program, Theo has led developer workshops and bootcamps across Nigeria 🇳🇬 and Ghana 🇬🇭, and remains deeply engaged in building open‑source tools that advance real‑world bitcoin use. His focus on technical education in the Global South has inspired and trained a new generation of builders across the bitcoin ecosystem. In the workshop, Theo, @Thevelopher and @SulaimanAminuB2 will walk participants through the practical process of deploying an LND node environment, and integrating it with NodeGaze, an open‑source observability tool for visualizing real‑time channel health, payments, and system events. Theo will also be part of the Lightning Round Q&A, alongside other global contributors and African builders. This session gives you the chance to ask questions about contribution paths, opportunities and challenges, so come prepared with your questions. 👉 Learn more and RSVP here to attend: clooza.com/events/BTRUSTDEVE…
