The Stroppies’ “Levity” was their most eclectic release to date, suffused with nervous energy and cartoon-lightbulb revelations. Sharp, funny, occasionally despairing lyrics pepper songs featuring sophistipop synths, bouncy rhythms, and punk muscle.
I know that the idea of the mid-year and year-end list can elicit a big eye roll from some, but since I think it always shines a nice light on some records that I love that might not be getting all the attention elsewhere, I’ll keep it up. bit.ly/3u0UVwi

A few listens in and I can confidently say that “Levity” is The Stroppies’ best yet. Sharp, clever songwriting and a varied sonic palette from the last half century of underground pop. Now to hold my breath ‘til my copy makes it over from the UK. thestroppies.bandcamp.com/al…
JUST IN: 'Levity' by The Stroppies
The Stroppies' second LP celebrates its release today, showcasing a darker and more fuzzed-up take on their jangly indie pop.
On CD and indies-only clear vinyl.

On the new @TheStroppies LP the band taps into the kind of woozy pop amalgam that pushed The Chills and Toy Love towards the top of the pile. Whoosh found the band embracing their songcraft, but Levity is where The Stroppies lock it down. @ToughLovebit.ly/3OWMWcA
