The amount of hate Elon Musk gets is a reminder that people don't actually hate success.
They hate people who are more successful than them.
A lot of people spend hours criticizing someone who is building electric cars, reusable rockets, satellite internet and changing entire industries.
Why?
Maybe because it's easier to hate them than to improve your own life.
Maybe because seeing someone achieve extraordinary things reminds people of everything they haven't achieved.
Or maybe people are simply frustrated with their own lives and project that frustration onto others.
Not saying successful people are perfect. But the obsession with tearing them down is fascinating.
