So far, the global economy is holding up despite war, but this masks significant differences across countries and regions. Energy importers and countries with limited policy space are most vulnerable. See my latest blog. imf.org/en/blogs/articles/20…

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

Could Argentina's Vaca Muerta become the next Midland Basin? The country's giant shale play is already the largest producing shale resource outside North America, with production approaching 0.9 million boe/d. But the story is about more than resource potential. Supportive policy reforms, more than US$100 billion in planned investment, growing LNG export ambitions and a major infrastructure buildout are creating the conditions for long-term growth. Wood Mackenzie forecasts Vaca Muerta production could exceed 1.6 million boe/d by 2035, while new LNG projects could position Argentina as an important source of supply diversification for global energy markets. The opportunity is significant, but execution remains critical. Expanding service-sector capacity, delivering infrastructure on time and maintaining investor confidence will all shape the pace of development. In our latest edition of The Edge, Simon Flowers and Wood Mackenzie experts explore six key insights on why Vaca Muerta could transform Argentina's energy sector and reshape global oil and gas supply. ( ) en Clarín: clar.in/49Wox2N
