Mourning the loss of Twitter & the lack of a good replacement. I've made so many personal & professional connections on Twitter over the years. It was once a huge part of my life. Twitter helped define my friend group when I lived in Nebraska & helped me apply for grad school.

As the proud mother of a transgender man, I encourage you to include your pronouns on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Slack, Zoom, resume, email signature, etc. This small step costs us a little time but can be life-changing for making the world safer for trans individuals.
Transgender people often add their pronouns in writing to their public-facing profiles to let others know what their pronouns are. This comes with risk though as it often outs them as trans which can put them in dangerous or discriminatory situations.
One thing that cisgender (non-transgender) people can do is to put our preferred pronouns out there loud and proud. We can normalize the act of specifically stating desired pronouns. We can show our support and we can make the world safer for trans people. #Pride2021
