In May, China's PV exports reached 747.8k units, 2.2% MoM and 72.1% YoY.🇨🇳 • #BYD topped the export ranking with 151.4k units, up 106.4% YoY. • The 2nd to 5th places were Chery (115k, 59.2%), MG (61k, 20.2%), #Geely (43.3k, 95.0%) and #Tesla (38.7k, 67.7%). • Almost all brands on the list recorded growth, with several posting triple-digit increases: Deepal ( 696.5%), Galaxy ( 528.9%), Leap ( 451.3%), Zeekr ( 450.9%).
In Apr, China's PV exports reached 731.7k units, 10.4% MoM and 77.4% YoY.🇨🇳 • #Chery led Apr 2026 PV exports at 137.4k units ( 120.0% YoY), with #BYD 2nd at 121.4k units ( 78.6% YoY). • MG and #Tesla took 3rd and 4th place, at 64.2k ( 48.9% YoY) and 53.5k units ( 80.0% YoY) respectively. • Several brands posted triple-digit growth, including Zeekr at 600.5% YoY, while Leapmotor, Wuling, Dongfeng and Deepal also doubled their exports.

The overseas version of Huawei’s HarmonyOS in-car system has been revealed by blogger 爱叨叨的Steven. Built on HarmonyOS 4.3 with deep localization, it has launched in regions including the Middle East and Central Asia, supporting Petal Maps and various mainstream overseas applications. In response to netizens questioning the slow rollout progress, the blogger noted that the delay is not due to technical issues, but external constraints. Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance is steadily expanding globally. Chery’s Luxeed R7 began overseas preparation in April, with version optimization for local regulations and market demand, and has received inquiries from multiple overseas dealers. In May, Seres confirmed that AITO will stick to a high-end global strategy and actively explore overseas markets. Here’s the analysis of the Sales-to-Production Ratio for China’s top 20 automakers Jan–May 2026, showing clear inventory and demand trends: 🟣 >100% (Inventory drawdown): Traditional groups such as SAIC, Geely, Chery and Changan achieved ratios above 100%, as cumulative sales exceeded production. This shows active inventory reduction from previous stock. 🟢 95%–100% (Balanced supply & demand): BYD leads with a near-perfect 99.6%, followed by FAW, GAC and Tesla Shanghai. These automakers maintain a healthy balance with stable inventory levels. 🟡 <95% (Inventory build): BAIC, Great Wall and BMW Brilliance show ratios below 95%, with higher inventories and softer sales. Among new car makers: Leapmotor (97.1%) is well-balanced. Li Auto (102.6%) and XPeng (102.7%) are reducing inventory of older models. NIO (89.3%) and Xiaomi Auto (93.1%) are pre-stocking for new products.
