I am glad it is over….not because we have done anything out of line, just because we don’t need the distraction. We can get on with our season and the haters can all focus on finding out what all Cincy has done wrong

It will not change the blind hate, the fake outrage, and the ugly jealousy……but this is very well stated by Kirby Hocutt #WreckEm

I understand why people are uncomfortable with the Brendan Sorsby situation. Betting on sports as a college athlete is serious. Betting connected to your own team creates an obvious integrity concern. Nobody has to minimize that. But there is another side to this that college football people should at least be honest enough to acknowledge. When a player becomes part of your program, he becomes part of your football family. That does not mean you excuse everything. It does not mean accountability disappears. It means you do not abandon him the second the situation becomes difficult, public, or uncomfortable. There is a difference between defending the person and defending the mistake. Texas Tech is in an impossible spot. Deep down, they may have hoped the final ruling would remove the decision from their hands. Exhaust every option, support the player, let the process play out, and if he is ruled ineligible, accept it. That is the cleanest outcome for a program trying to balance loyalty, discipline, public pressure, and competitive integrity. But now the court has ruled that he is legally allowed to play. That changes the structure of the decision. If Texas Tech turns its back on him now, what message does that send to every player and family they recruit? That we will fight for you until the pressure gets too loud? That we will call you family when you are producing, but distance ourselves when standing beside you becomes inconvenient? If I were recruiting against Texas Tech and they abandoned him after he was legally cleared to play, I would use that every time. Not because the mistake does not matter, but because trust matters. Families want to know what happens when their son is injured, struggling, accused, embarrassed, or sitting in the middle of a situation nobody wants attached to the program. Accountability and loyalty are not opposites. You can believe justice should be served. You can believe the integrity of the game matters. You can believe gambling violations deserve real consequence. You can also believe that a program should stand by its people through the full process, not just through the easy parts. That is the hard part of family. You do not only fight for your people when the optics are clean. You fight for them through the good and the bad, while still demanding accountability, treatment, discipline, and truth. Texas Tech may not like the position it is in. Most programs would not. But once he is legally allowed to play and remains part of the Red Raider family, abandoning him strictly because of social pressure would send its own message. And that message may be harder to overcome than the controversy itself.

Athlete gambled while actually playing for Texas…..Sorsby hasn’t played a snap for Tech. Yet, we are ruining college sports. Someone make it make sense
Hmm why don’t we just make Sorsby give all his winnings to charity? That apparently works.

Two Texas Longhorns Football Players Part of Multiple NCAA Violations si.com/college/texas/footbal… Oops…..this brings to mind something about rocks and glass houses. I read the article and noticed that one of the player’s ‘punishment’ was donating is winnings to a charity 😂

Actually….you mean you hate Indiana and Cincinnati right? Those are the two schools he actually played for…..
Texas Tech cheated and should be punished to the maximum degree. I hate teams who cheat and compromise the integrity of our great sport.

It is absolutely fair and responsible reporting to mention that we are leading the way in the NIL era. Because we are. But it is typical weak and lazy espn reporting for them to act like we are the only ones trying to ‘build a team that can win it all’

The more we fight about ‘left’ and ‘right’ they stronger they all get
Our entire government is corrupt. Not Left. Not Right. Us versus them

A little perspective for Lady Vol fans: Don’t judge an entire fanbase by the loudest idiots on social media. Every fanbase has them. Lord knows Tennessee has more than our fair share. Every Texas Tech fan I met at the WCWS this week has been nothing but respectful, welcoming, and passionate about their team. And as for the money? Spare me. College sports have become an arms race. We celebrate NIL, facilities, and donor support when it benefits our team. We can’t suddenly act offended when another fanbase does the same thing. The atmosphere in Oklahoma City has been incredible. Packed crowds, passionate fans, national attention, and programs investing in softball. That’s good for the sport whether we like who’s winning or not. Enjoy the games. Respect the fans. Save the hate for the scoreboard. Go Lady Vols 🍊

Instead of the empty ‘play us’ reply….we put it back in Sark’s lap. We could possibly get whipped, sure. But we ain’t skerd. Sark wants to mouth off for clicks and attention…how about standing by it?
Upping the ante: @TechAthletics will pay the buyout for both the ACU and Texas State games. Let’s go!!! @CoachSark @_delconte

ESPN starts the game talking about MissSt Jr pitcher being Newcomer OTY….but no mention of her being a transfer. Then they immediately go into talking about Tech’s transfers…..feeding that narrative while ignoring reality.

Somehow, the portal and NIL are only bad when Tech (or non-sec schools) use them.
Replying to @sportsiren
Hey Holly, when Florida won the men’s basketball championship last year how many players in their starting lineup were transfers? I count 4 of 5. And 7 total on their team. So it’s okay when Florida uses the portal but Texas tech we continue to insinuate malpractice?

Post of the day in regards to the ridiculous narrative and media obsession of Texas Tech’s use of the transfer portal
I'm such a @sportsiren Holly Rowe fan but I agree with Chris on this. In football Texas Tech spends less on their roster than Texas and several SEC teams yet all anyone talks about is TT "buying players". Now I'm seeing the same double-standard in softball when anyone affiliated with the sport should be thrilled that a major university is investing so heavily in their program -- especially in today's 'football-only' culture. Texas Tech should be applauded instead of having people throwing shade their way simply because they are going all in and winning. For years in football the bluebloods of the sport used bagmen to help build their rosters under the table. Now that comping players and NIL are legal the bluebloods of the sport can't stand having to play by the same rules as everyone else. Softball clearly has a little bit of that same blueblood arrogance, and the @GatorsSB softball team should be embarrassed for the "sore loser" mentality they displayed after the game today. No one faults these young ladies for being disappointed, but refusing to shake hands only reflects poorly on the University of Florida. Furthermore, @bethmowins ought to be relegated to high school sports for sharing in this arrogance during the broadcast. I'm a Michigan State alum, and like Texas Tech we've historically been chasing the bluebloods in our conference and nationally. The more success I see from Texas Tech the more I hope MSU's distinguished alumni are watching and learning from them so maybe we can join them as one of the "new bloods". In the meantime, here's a message for Beth Mowins and/or anyone else covering Tx Tech's games going forward: if you're not going to discuss how much Texas, Florida, or Ohio State are paying for their rosters then kindly STFU about how much Texas Tech is spending. Congrats to @TexasTechSB and good luck in the @WCWSsoftball ! #WCWS #RedRaiders #Gators #ESPN @espn #NCAA #softball

This makes no sense…..quit falling into that trap. Literally everyone recruits with money. And, no matter how much money is spent, championships are won on the field.

When anyone asks ‘how are you ?’…my reply is always ‘as long as I have a choice, I’m doing great’. Goes along with this post….if you’re gonna overthink, might as well overthink the positive. instagram.com/reel/DYQ9p0iJI…
