Lord, have mercy. This is beyond comprehension and so close to home.
LATEST: The suspect shot a rifle through the front windows of the church and was also armed with a shotgun and pistol. Two children, ages 8 and 10, were killed. 17 others were injured, including 14 children. Two of the children are reported to be in critical condition. Police have confirmed the shooter was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Many of us feel scared, and exhausted by the sense that there’s nothing we can do to fix this.
It feels trite and foolish to say that the best thing I can do tomorrow is teach the Bible to kids and hug friends and say “this is Christ’s body, broken for you.” But I think it is.
