John Woo is renowned for his intense preference for the Beretta 92 (specifically the 92F and 92FS models) in his films, a choice he considers essential for his "gun-fu" aesthetic.

Japan's jishu-eiga scene is really amazing. A place where films made for barely nothing can get proper theatrical runs in cinemas, allowing for many young voices to get a footing in the industry. While the majority of these films never leave Japan, we're happy to do our share.

黄秋生近日在台湾拍了一个脂肪肝的公益广告,小小惊悚又不乏幽默,勾起了“人肉叉烧包”的深刻回忆,警示意味十足。

So I made a video about Ebola Syndrome, one of the most extreme films to come out of Hong Kong, but in the video I ask... Does it have more to it than just being a piece of shock cinema? youtu.be/-LUpJmc54Bw

***ANNOUNCEMENT*** Coming on May 25th on Blu-ray in the UK from @TreasFilmsUK: #Hellevator: The Bottled Fools (2004)! Set almost entirely in a transport elevator that shuttles citizens between futuristic towns stacked on top of one another, a hellish scenario unfolds. Amongst the postmodern masses that squeeze into the public transport: cell-phone addicted businessmen clones, a child with a human brain as a pet, leather clad, militant law enforcers, and a 17-year-old schoolgirl (Luchina Fukisaki) with the psychic ability to receive visions from each person on board. Oppressive paranoia builds when a pair of convicted homicidal rapists join the ride and escape their abusive police escorts. Claustrophobic sets, a rabble of strange and detailed characters and bursts of excessive violence set the stage for an explosion of chaos in this psychologically charged dystopian sci-fi horror. The brain-child of wunderkind director Hiroki Yamaguchi; who completed the film aged only 23 before it became the hit of the 2004 Fantasia Film Festival; Hellevator: The Bottled Fools (aka Gusha no bindume) makes its worldwide Blu-ray debut and is presented here in a newly graded master in a much-treasured special edition!
