Ben Brown has turned things around tremendously this season. One of the few bright spots on the #Cubs pitching staff.
With 2 outs in the 5th inning and RISP, Ben Brown looked locked in during a mound visit, chest pumping Miguel Amaya. THIS is what I want to see. Give me that absolute confidence. Brown got out of the inning unscathed.

Travel ball is bleeding families dry. Tournaments fees. Hotels. Food. Equipment. And now they charge parents insane amounts just to watch their own kid play. What’s next — pay-per-flush bathrooms? Enough is enough‼️

100%. I see some kids do it every game.
1-0 fastball. Middle of the plate. Watched for a called strike. That's the single most expensive at bat in amateur baseball. It happens constantly. Stop it.

Why was it important to write that verse tonight? ROUPP: "The rainbow is a symbol of God's covenant to us, and us as believers stand firm in that... There's no hate at all." What would say if somebody considered that derogatory toward them as a community? ROUPP: "As a believer, I would push them to read the Bible. God has blessed me in so many ways and I don't think I'd be here right now if it wasn't for him."

Landen Roupp had Genesis 9:12-16 written on his pride hat tonight. "It's just about God's covenant and a promise that he makes to us." "It's just something I believe in and I stand firm in that. Thankfully we live in a country where we have the freedom to believe what we want."

"stars" are picked way too early...the players who develop steadily and keep going even when looked over for the new "it" player keep getting better in silence and play longer than most who peaked at 16/17🔥

Notre Dame alum and former CB Isaiah Dunn officially took his talents to South Bend’s own @16NewsNow today. On day one, he walked into the newsroom wearing a jacket that embodied exactly what shaped him in college: “Play Like a Champion Today.” Isaiah spent much of his free time interviewing players, studying the craft, and preparing for his move into the news world. That's how it's Dunn ☘️🔔 📸 @BreidyTV w/@Isaiahdunn22

In our H.S. program, we usually get 80–100 kids trying out. This year we’re in the mid-70s. Coaches across the state are telling me numbers are down everywhere. Some schools like us, with 2,500 students, have only 20–25 kids trying out for 3 teams. What’s happening to baseball?

This is great.
We can now model swing paths and ask, "How do swings change over time?" Let's answer that for Bregman. Left: vs. 2025, his bat is less direct through the zone, more angled for pull side. Middle: vs. 2025, he's more compact. Right: In June, he's making contact with less launch (ie, more level) Once the plate turns gold, that's when the bat "enters the zone." Then we will zoom in slowly.

This 18 year old senior HS baseball player volunteers to umpire. The coach is complaining about walk up music for the kids on the other team. 🙄 The 18 year old tells him there is nothing wrong and let’s play ball. He tells the coach you can either go back to the dugout or go to your car. The coach continues on. The umpire asks the kids- do you want to play baseball or watch the coach argue? All the kids say we want to play. 💯 The coach continues and the ump throws him out. Then the coach pulls his team off the field. They aren’t going to play. 🤯 This young umpire handled himself more as an adult than the coach did imho. There is always one it seems who wants to make it more about themselves than about the kids. Only takes one. Do you think the umpire handled it correctly? Would you be upset at your coach if he pulled your team off the field and forfeited?
This umpire was calling a game. The kid at bat had two strikes on him. The pitcher threw a curve ball that looked like it was going to hit the batter but it broke and curved down over the plate for strike three- the ump rang him up. The kid immediately tapped his helmet like the pros do for an instant replay challenge. The umpire thought it was extremely disrespectful. He told the coach that he wasn’t going to tolerate any other kids doing that. He said he’s going to talk to the coaches before the games now because it’s an avenue for kids to argue balls and strikes without voicing they are arguing balls and strikes. Many people said the umpire was soft. Many said it’s a kids game, let them play and stop whining and man up. But some said if you give the kid an inch in showing disrespect then it can open the food gates and that he shouldn’t tolerate it and they agreed with him. Me personally? Im old school. You aren’t going to show me up whether you are the coach or the player. I’d do the same and give a warning to the coach and anyone else doing that afterwards is gone. What do you think? Do you think the umpire is overreacting like some people said or do you think he’s right in feeling it’s disrespectful?

Can someone explain to me how we can be THIS in depth with hitting mechanics, and yet still seemingly have multiple hitters in every MLB lineup hitting under .200? I'll start. Paralysis by analysis / information overload.
Everyone chases bat speed and a perfect attack angle, but that doesn't tell the whole story. Former Hitting Trainer and current Seattle Mariners Hitting Strategist, Justin Sartori breaks down why bat path—the combination of swing path tilt, attack angle, AND attack direction gives you a more well-rounded understanding of how a swing works.
