GREAT weekend of state finals on the diamonds for an epic conclusion to a wild year. ⚾️ Each of the first 4 state finals were thrillers, with the tying run either on base or at the plate in the last inning. ⚾️ Record-tying 11-run inning for CM in the 5th overcame a 4-2 deficit to snap a 53-year title drought. ⚾️ Two sensational comebacks in the 7th down to their last out — Georgetown snapped a no-hitter with Ty Southall’s game-tying 2-run double before Georgetown won in the 8th, and Seekonk generated two runners with two outs for Brayden McBride’s go-ahead double. ⚾️ Stellar four-man job on the mound sealed Middleboro’s first title since 2015. ⚾️ KP & Georgetown avenged state final losses against the teams that beat them (2022 & 2023 for KP, 2024 for Georgetown). 🥎 Dynasties continued — Taunton is the second program ever to win six straight titles (D1), Case is the third program ever to four-peat (D4 & D3). ⚾️ 🥎 KP won in both sports in D2, just the seventh time a school has done that the same year. 🥎 Epic conclusion for KP coach Kate Fallon, winning the state title in her last year as coach. She goes out with seniors McCoy Walsh & Ali Gill, who starred again to cap off excellent careers. 🥎 Taunton & Attleboro left it all out there in D1, combining for a state championship record 19 runs, and Attleboro tied the record for most runs (8) by a runner-up. 🥎 AMSA (D4) & Maynard (D5) each won titles in their state final debuts, backed by stellar two-way showings from Ava McLeod & Maddy Karlon. 🥎 Two years in a row SOPH Alyana DeJesus smashed a critical HR for Case late to key a title. 🥎 Taunton’s dynasty is unrivaled this millennium, winning 80 straight games against MIAA competition & are 109-6 since the pandemic-cancelled season. Borderline unfair to primarily highlight Gatorade Player of the year Bella Bourque & Aniyah Bailey with how deep down the lineup its dominance came from this year.

I can’t even put into words how this moment feels. I am so incredibly proud of this group of girls! They bought into our program, our culture, and made adjustments every step of the way. GRIT (2026 Slogan)— Goals, Resilience, Integrity, and Team — and this group embodied TEAM more than ever. They were constantly hyping each other up, passing the bat, and giving everything they had on defense. Our pitchers stepped up every time we needed them in the circle and were always there supporting their fellow Tigers. Lastly, I love the support we receive from our entire staff. Everyone has a role, and whenever needed, they step right in. As always, thank you to my right-hand woman/work wife, Coach Riss, for always helping get our girls ready; Mr. Greco for coming to almost every practice, every game and bringing the girls waters/snacks, Kirby and Coach Fox; our trainers, Kris and Maddie, for keeping our girls healthy and all the bad juju out of the dugout; Coach G for working with the girls in the weight room; and Raph and Sandra for always making sure the girls have everything they need. We are also so grateful for the continued support from Dr. Harrison, Mr. Cabral, TPS, and the entire Taunton community. Our biggest thanks go to SRO Chaves and the crew who volunteered to escort the Tigers back into the city. This never gets old. Dynasty at THS! 🧡🐅🥎

Six straight D1 titles. 80 consecutive MIAA wins. Lacking its usual dominant pitching, Taunton found another way — winning the highest-scoring softball title game in state history. “I didn’t doubt us at any second.” Story on a wild game @GlobeSchools: bostonglobe.com/2026/06/13/s…
